  • Anybody heard any rumors about Sportsbook.com being sold

I just got this email from Industry alert that says a rumor is going around that Sportsbook.com,playersonly.com and superbook.com have been sold. The say we should pull our funds out and wait till maybe football season to see what happens during this transition

Its funny cause they also soaid sportsbook.com cut it's staff by 50%. I had a play on Nick Watney last Sunday and he won the tournament about 5:00 p.m EST. By Monday afternoon at 5:00 I still was showing the bet pending. I go on the live chat and the girl kept saying she would be right with me.After 20 minutes she finaly started to help me get this resolved. 8:30 p.m EST Monday night the $200 was available. Kinda weird for a site that has always been VERY QUICK with payouts and lines.

Damn that sucks buddy just does not make sense i am sure these will be open by fotball season,i had a guy call me from a poker site that was shut down doyles room.they called my cell and said they were changing the domain name.he tried to feed me a line of shit and he kept saying all the feds wanted was thier domain name.i kept saying is it safe and he kept saying oh yeah for sure, still not buying it.they offered me 100% bonus still have not deposited cause i dont trust the poker sites right now.i do trust the sportsbooks though but this worries me though because if it happens to sportsbook.com then could hapen to any of the books.

I haven't heard anything in regards to this. They are far behind when it comes to being the best in the sportsbook market. They are above average.

They removed themselves from the US market, but as far as a sale I don't know anything in regards to that. So if you don't have an account it won't effect you. If you do then you can continue to wager with them.

"Sportsbook.com: We've stopped taking US customers due to recent events in the US that have impacted our ability to accept new customers in that market. Our international business is an important part of our business and we want to continue to grow in those markets. We've decided, for the time being, to disallow new US sign-ups. However, any existing accounts will remain open and will stay active for years to come."

Thanks Monte. I have a zero balance with about $100 worth of British Open bets pending so if I hit I will try to cash out and see how that goes. If none hit I will just start putting in at another site. Thanks again for the info.

I think were going to be seeing more books pull out of the USA which sucks.

Try one of the books on this site as they are as good if not better in my opinion than sportsbook.com

I am probably missing something, but why would they even allow existing accounts to continue if they want to discontinue operations for now with US customers?
Could it have something to do with not wanting to return all balances of existing customers at the same time or perhaps because they believe it will be easier for the US Govt. to detect newly accounts than ones which already exist.

Some might laugh or scoff at this but in spite of a little storm which I knew would blow over, I still consider Bookmaker one of the most solid and well established Offshores out there.
Since all of the commotion, I made a withdrawal with no problems and it was sent as quickly as ever.
I also made a deposit using the same credit card I always have with ZERO problems-from my point of view, nothing has changed other than the fact that they changed their domain-from what I know and have read, they also continue to be as safe as any other Offshore as far as getting paid.
