  • Guys, need your help...

My buddy has an account at you wager (first fidelity). He withdrew a check for $3,000 after hitting them hard in the casino and sports. He tried to cash the check instead of deposit it. The teller made him sign fraudulent paperwork to protect himself. He had to wait ten days and it came back a bad check. The check was drawn on the royal bank of canada with the tlc global ensignia on it. The bank destoyed the check and you wager said the check was good. What can he do? Thanks in advance!

Have him send me an e-mail at [email protected] with his account # and name plus giving me permission to speak with you wager on his behalf. And who he's been dealing with.

The papers that the bank made him sign were what?
He should have just deposited the check as the Royal Bank of Canada is good for it.

Tell the book to put a stop payment on that check and reissue another one. Seems simple right?

Sounds like a bad situation and sounds like he may be out of this cash... I don't know just my two cents..

I don't think that will work. The check has probably already cleared and youwager may be out the $3k. If so the monies would still be with Royal Bank of Canada. It all depends on what he signed at the bank. I would not have signed any fraudelant paperwork. Just deposit the check and it clears.

Make a long story short..... He is unemployed and needed the money on the spot to pay bills. He had an acc. At the local bank but only had $209 dollars in it so they wouldn't cash it. He put up a stink instead of just depositing it like i told him. The teller got suspicious of his behavior probably thinking he knew the check was bad and trying to cash it. She had him fill out paperwork to protect himself from prosecution by the bank if the check came back fraudulent like it did. Seems like she did him a favor there. You guys are the best for your insight and trying to help here.

Why would you wager be out 3000. They destroyed the check so it's like it never existed. No monies were exchanged.

The local bank said it was destroyed. What has the Royal Bank of Canada had to say?

The only way it was destroyed by the Royal Bank of Canada is if the check bounced and was no good. Then that means youwager paid without the proper funds. Thus, the reason he should contact me with all the detailed info so I can check into it.

I don't get why the bank wanted him to fill out paperwork if the check came back fraudulent, because he wouldn't be responsible the check issuer would be. That is unless they were going to give him cash. And with $209 in your checking account there is no way that they will cash it. Deposit it or go to a cash checking place and pay 8%. And the Royal Bank of Canada is a pretty good bank from what I know so I still don't get why his bank was worried about the check.

And if youwager paid through Royal Bank of Canada it seems that the funds would have been there for them to cut a check. Something is weird about this whole thing.

And to correct myself I don't think the Royal Bank of Canada would have tore up the check if it bounced. They would keep it for their records. Plus I take it the check bounced as he deposited it and it didn't clear. That means the funds weren't in the account to cover the check. This is either a youwager or a 3rd party processor problem. Now I'm more curious to find out what's going on.

Robb have your friend or you get his info at youwager and who all he's dealt with their so I can contact them.
