  • Online Sportsbook Question

Hey Everyone...Just ran into a little problem and wanted everyone's input.

There was a women's tennis match tonight...Azarenka v. Cibulkova. On caribsports it closed at midnight and I wanted some late action so I placed a bet on Azarenka at 11:57pm. Then I went to track the score around 12:05 and saw that the match has been in progress for 1hr20min (6-2,2-6). I check my book and it shows that the wager was cancelled. Do I have any right in complaining? I mean technically I put the bet in before it was off the board (12am). I know this doesn't matter to them but I didnt even know the score before putting the wager in. What kind of bothers me is that I'm thinking, if the woman I bet on was clearly losing, they might've kept the bet alive. Just wanted to get your opinions. Do I have a case? Is there anything worth emailing/calling them? Thanks in advance

Did you make a copy of your wager ticket?

Honestly I don't think you have a case.
Most Offshores clealy state in their rules that they have the right to cancel a bet if the game or event begins before the time they posted.

I think both of you are right. I guess the fact that I'm hesitant to contact them right now (because Cilbulkova is making a little comeback) shows that I shouldn't contact them. Basically I'm waiting for my girl to win....whatever, im just going to forget this. Thanks for your input guys.. I'm just glad I didnt wake up to this mess

Savage1- I think you're right...They can pretty much do whatever the hell they want. I guess they can even cancel my account and there's nothing I can do about it.

They wont do that. Too much money in them keeping a good name. If enough complaints hit the boards about certain sites they start losing credability and revenue drops. Check their terms of service if your girl wins and see if you have a leg to stand on. Provided they have a credible site you should get your bet honored if their terms doesnt cover it.

                  Poskid-

"In the case of an obvious error on the posted line, graded line, or any event found to be past-posted, the wagers placed on that line may be deemed a "No Action", and money in your account will be adjusted accordingly. Any manipulation of lines will not be tolerated and can result in the bets being graded as losers."

I guess it's written in their rules. "ANY EVENT FOUND TO BE PAST-POSTED".

I hope Azarenka loses so I can forget about this mess and feel better about myself. She was up 5-3 ( i think) in the 3rd set and now its 5-5.

When you placed the wager the tennis matchup had been going for over an hour? If so they will cancel the wager as any book would.
