British bookmaker William Hill (WMH.L) will this week unveil plans to move its internet operation to Gibraltar in order to cut its tax bill, the Sunday Times newspaper reported without citing sources.
The Sunday Times said UK-based internet betting companies pay 15 percent of their gross profits in tax, and that a move offshore by William Hill would put pressure on its rivals to follow suit.
Ladbrokes is said to be following William Hill with a move offshore to get away from the 15% tax vs. 1.5% tax offshore books pay.
