party...empire poker (same players as **********, just a different sites)...ultimate bet....pokerstars...all top notch

stick with the ones affliated with the WPT...ive had payouts from party/empire/UB......although i dont like the pokerstars software, i would say that the site is trustworthy....payouts shouldnt be a problem....

if high limits are what your looking for id say UB/pokerstars....UB is where a LOT of pros play...devilfish/hellmuth/annieduke/scottynguyun (SP?)...layne flack....phil gordon...you can watch them play 80/160 its wild...

            Poker sites

            Background for my comments

I have played successfully online since 6/99 when only a few sites existed (Planet, Delta, Paradise started soon after).

I have made my living as a professional poker player at mid limit games (10/20 to 30/60) in the real world.

I have won poker tournaments (but am/was NOT a professional tourney player).

Site payments - With FEW exceptions all of the "name sites" pay off.
The exceptions (the sites failed) have been well publicized and truly you should have little concern that you will get your winnings. The sites are literally GOLD mines for the house because of the huge profits they make from the rake with minimal costs of operations. None of them want to risk bad publicity re payoffs.

Site selection - Totally dependent upon the game and limit you play and the environment you want to play in. I am personally primarily a Texas Holdem player so consider that fact when reviewing my comments.

Pacific poker have the consistently softest games from 5/10 -15/30 but absolutely the WORST software of any major site. Play is slow and you can only play one game at a time. They also have a slower payout schedule (typically 3 days back to neteller) but that is their STATED policy so should be of NO concern.

Delta poker - Tiny and I do mean TINY room - All low limit and the absolute FRIENDLIEST place you will ever play outside of a home game.
Owners/operators will respond direct to you, players are honestly friendly and you can develop actual relationships with the people you are playing against. Zero collusion (players cheating) but when you first play their you will truly feel you stepped into someone ELSE'S home game. They will welcome you like a long lost brother if you like to chat. Vulgar language, chat box player abuse, etc., is NOT tolerated by the house and you will be banned. SAFEST place online but again a very limited game selection.

Party poker - The biggest because of the WPT exposure, Unlimited game selection, skill levels vary from the toughest rocks you will ever see to utter wild men. TABLE selection is critical when playing this site.

PokerStars- Excellent Tourney format and software. In general a fairly tough cash game table site but worth trying for the tourney packages.

WSEX - This used to be one of the Softest sites around with HUGE cash games ($100 - $200 limits) because it was predominated played by Big time sports bettors (they often had money but not poker skill). They opened the poker side in Feb 02 and it is still a decent place to play and for a sports bettor they make it easy to move funds back and forth from their sports book. Good Support personnel, and they have some interesting promotions at times ($1 cost single table shoot out which pays $50 to table winner every night) which is a good way to get started. Primarily only Hold em is now played there.

Paradise Poker - IMO the worst site for collusion online at the higher limit games.

Ultimate bet- They have an interesting table minimizing feature (you have to see it to understand that comment) that allows for easiest multitable play (playing 2 or 3 games at once).

Collusion cheating -- if you are a neophyte the simplest way to avoid it is to NOT play the highest limit game at the site. Logic dictates that cheating IF IF IF it is occurring will happen at the highest limit table. If you can't spot strange play patterns just stick to lower limit games where it still MAY occur but not with the frequency.

Here is some web sites you may want to look at. I am NOT saying they are accurate but its a starting place to read about sites

            http://www.twoplustwo.com/
This is a gaming chat forum and the best online -- a bit tough to navigate because its so busy but you can find a ton of good poker information here.

Just two poker review sites (as examples) I do NOT necessarily agree with the write ups - only providing them as reference points.

            http://www.onlinepokerreview.com/
            http://www.casinobreakdown.com/pokerrooms.htm

Hope this helps you make a decision - its accurate information and honest.
