Here is some advice from someone who used to work in a bank.
1. Keep all checks under 9500
2. Don't have all the checks the same amount.
3. Deposit at different branches.
The CTR actually does not apply here, as that is only for cash transactions. Techincally with checks, you don't really have to worry, as the cash laws don't apply to them. However, I'd follow my guidelines to ensure no one raises any flags at all. GL!
I got questioned by my bank a few years ago when I was with Sportsbook and they were only $2500-$3500 checks I had deposited into my account about 15,000 in about 2 1/2 mounths Then I got lucky Sportsbook switched to a firm who used US Bank and I just cashed them there then I got screwed over by Sportsbook
The max you can deposit is, like everyone said, $9999 but that only applies to cash because of money laundering. I remember years ago winning from my local more than 10,000 and when he paid me in cash he told me not to deposit more than $9000 at a time because of the 9999 cash limit. What's surprising is that the limit isn't any higher than it was 15 years ago.
I don't think depositing a check for more than 10,000 would be a problem if the check is from a US bank like birdog said. With inflation these days, peoples monthly paychecks can be for more than $10,000 and I can't envision the bank contacting the IRS everytime someone deposits their paycheck.
Now, jc, I have a question for you. Is there a certain reason you don't want to share your money making plays with the rest of us poor people.
1) These winnings are for my boss, i have an account set up in my name and he uses it. So im not the one getting rich, its him. He is skidish about the whole off shore thing so when he wins i cash the checks for him. Many people know here that i have posted his horse plays before, he is an unbeliveable horse capper.
He deposited 1300 and has made withdrawals of 4000, 2500, and now 7000 in the last month and he still had 5000 in his account.
You have to understand he bets alot on horses, i mean its nothing for him to bet a 50-100 exacta box or put 100 and a 100 on a horse, so the exacta may only pay 18 dollars but if you have that 50 times your gonna win alot of money.
I will post some of his horses if you want, but you have to play them all in order to win, for instance i bet his early horse yesterday and got it shoved and then i layed off of his late ones at santa anita and he hit 2 15 dollar horses.
Its not that i dont like sharing, its i dont like giving out losers, thats why i quit posting plays.
