I was planning on opening an account up online, until one of my friends mentioned something about online gambling is soon going to be illegal. Can someone give me some insight into this? Also, if I do open an account, how should I go about transfering funds and/or hopefully collecting my winnings?

Depends on how much money you're going to open an account with. You could use Neteller.com with a credit card as they are in Canada.

As far as online gambling going to be illegal it has to pass the Senate.

Is it legal with neteller? No Idea but tons of people use them. I don't know if anything is impossible to trace. You can do a western union transfer too. A lot of books have you send it to a name of a person. You can collect through western union or neteller. Neteller will send you a check.
