IMO: Bodog is okay for the casual sports bettor, but if one is serious about it like most of us are on this site, I wouldn't use it as a primary book. Juice is much higher there, and they don't let you buy off key #'s, or let you but pts when the line isn't flat (which is all the time with them). They also circle a ton of games.

There lines are almost always a tad higher, so they are best used as an out if there is a dog you love.

They are lightening quick with payouts, and loaded with cash so your money is secure and you won't get screwed. You can also wager over the phone which is nice.

Thanks for all of the responses.
I have decided pretty much that compared to Pinny and even WWTS(until they shut it down), Bodog is too much of a Mickey Mouse pperation(not being able to buy points all of the time disqualifies them in itself in my mind).
Question: is there any one in same boat as me(maybe thaikarate 1 can respond) who was with WWTs and has already requested their money, and if so, what was the response? I assume it would be the same as anyone who signed up on his own(the reason I haven't called yet on my own is that I don't want to get a whole song and dance act saput how I should stay and try them ,etc.
Also, can I assume there is no charge if I simply request a check?

        Can anyone help here?
        Thanks tinman for responding.

I just called and cancelled the account and requested payout at Blowdog with no problems.
The lady was very courteous(boy did she sound sexy!).
I accept the fact they might be good if you want to play dogs, but as stated before, their options (or lack of like buying1/2 points, etc.)seem worlds behind what WWTS and Pinnacle have;the fact that they are affiliated with WWTS which shut down all American accounts makes me feel uneasy also.

Savage, another bad thing about bodog is they are very late in putting out lines. Example, they don't even have college basketball lines out and it's 10:30! Also don't put moneylines for NBA until after 4pm. I use bodog when betting on dogs, good book to have for that. If you have a few other books, it's good to have cause you will find good lines for dogs.
            Posted record as of 03/12/08:

            NBA 35-33 -.22 units
            NCAA Basketball 12-14-1 -3.08 units

              MNCapper-Thanks for that additional tidbit.
To me it simply is not worth the bother.

Not that it means much to anyone else, but it took me 20 minutes to explain to some moron over there that Blowdog had deducted my bonus not once but twice for what I was entitled to(I do not qualify for the bonus as I didn't turn over the money three times, but without going into details, it took this scatterbrain 20 minutes to understand something which shoueld have takedn her 30 seconds(if that) to realize her error.

You can no longer buy points at Bodog. They stopped it a couple of weeks ago. Also, I use them and Pinny and you can get a better line at Bodog about 1 out of 25 times. Easy to get money in and out of though.

I will breathe a sigh of relief when I have my payout check in hand;from today's conversation it would appear that the person in customer service with whome I spoke failed 3rd grade arithmetic;boy was she stupid or what.

All I know is that for me anyways I made the right decision.
I know it is not a boiler room operation or anything, but compared to what Pinnacle has and what WWTS had before shutting its door down to US customers, Bodog is sadly lacking, and intuitively my conscience says to stay away.

I would caution folks that Bodog owner Calvin Eyre cancelled a trip to the U.S. shortly after the Millenium/BetOnSports indictment and shutdown. It was while making a U.S. connection that the BoS exec was arrested and the company shut down. The fact that Eyre is afraid to come to the U.S. should be cautionary.

I personally wouldn't have a penny in Bodog for this reason.

I know they have a great payout record in the past, but precisely because of the reasons you cited, I have an uneasy feeling about their future and hence with any money which is deposited with them.
