Party Poker is stating that due to scheduled maintenance, real game servers are down between 10 and 1 EST. When I saw that Bush was signing the bill at 10am EST, I transferred my money to neteller.
I'm still waiting for that transaction to go through.
I don't think it's a coincidence that PP is down right now and I doubt they are doing maintenance.Every

I know they have a sizeable International presence, but I wonder how long a site like that can stay in business without U.S. customers.
My guess is that if they can't find a way around this, they will ultimately merge with another company and possible go private.Every

Don't want to get political again, but billions upon billions spent in Iraq with no end in sight, untold thousands of people killed or maimed on both sides, and signing a bill to try to outlaw a HARMLESS activity from one's home or office is at the top of the agenda.
What is next-trying to outlaw cohabitation or premarital sex?

Well, the homepage is up, but that's about it. Can't login yet...I wonder what they are doing.
I support the military, but I don't think it's right to tie TERRORISM bill with online gambling. What's next shut down Scotttrade or ETRADE? Now that's online gambling!Bet with your head, not your heart.

Just talked to their customer service and she said they are suspending all US accounts and will do what they can to give us back money.
not sure when thought.
I actually just called and told the phone rep.they should reconsider this decision since other large Offshores are still accepting bets and that they shouldn't be running scared not just yet anyways;there is no law which presently states US citizens cannot bet on the internet;the law has to do only with the funding.
The phone rep. said he would pass along my comments.
He did say that all accounts are frozen presently, but under a worse case scenario(no more bets accepted), US citizens/customers would get their money back.Last edited by savage1; 10-13-2006, 03:47 PM.

BETCORP LIMITED
NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS
13 OCTOBER 2006
At 10.00am Friday October 13th, US Eastern time, President George Bush signed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, bringing that Act into force.
As a result, and in accordance with the advice of its lawyers, Betcorp Limited has suspended all US-facing operations, pending further analysis of the Act’s final text and receipt of further legal advice.
This means that, until further notice, it will not be possible for US residents to place wagers or make deposits on, or make withdrawals from, any website owned or operated by any company in the Betcorp group. This account freeze will remain in place until such time as Betcorp has fully assessed its legal position.
Betcorp’s websites will continue to accept deposits and wagers from, and process withdrawals for, all customers other than US residents in the ordinary course of business. Betcorp currently has customers in some 87 countries other than the US.
The Board and Executive Management of Betcorp are committed to ensuring that all US customers will have access to their accounts restored as soon as possible.
Betcorp’s help lines and online inquiry services for all Group websites will continue to operate, with additional staff being deployed to handle US customer inquiries. Betcorp will keep all customers informed of developments.Ron Paul for president
