  • Any info on Bodog?

Guys, with all this crap going on over the offshore books, has anyone heard anything about Bodog? I always use them for football, and just want to make sure everything looks okay before I deposit.

Thanks and GL to everyone this football season.

      Subject : [ #3100417] Legal Concerns
Thank you for contacting Bodog Customer Service regarding your account.
The U.S. government has the ability to detain anyone who enters into
the U.S. as it sees fit – we all know that and we all abide by their
authority within their jurisdiction. At this point, the detention of a
high-profile senior executive in the online gaming industry may appear
to some as ominous for the online gambling industry, but that is not
the case at all. The charges are specific to the person and company at
issue, and has nothing to do with Bodog.com's current or previous
business practices. Bodog.com, a privately held, Costa Rican-based
company, has an innovative and different business model that allows us
to run our entertainment enterprise within the laws set out in each of
the jurisdictions where we conduct our business. Bodog.com will
continue to carry on its business as usual and our organization is
confident the U.S. government’s actions will have no impact on our
operations. We are leading the way in digital entertainment and will
      continue to do so.

Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to
contact us, or seek advice from a legal expert in your jurisdiction.

      Best Regards,
      Customer Service

Bodog is fine, used them all summer for baseball. However, they are always the last one's to put their lines out in any sport. They are a good book to use for dogs in football, most of my dog bets were placed on Bodog last year.
        Posted record as of 03/12/08:

I strongly disagree. Bodog founder Calvin Eyre cancelled a conference in Las Vegas a few weeks ago because he is terrified to come to the United States.

I think it is naive to assume the government isn't preparing to indict other sports books than BOS/Millenium.

The fact that most offshores are switching to internet only wagering (because of the wording of The Wire Act) indicates concern.

I'm not saying Bodog is risky. I am saying that anyone who thinks any offshore is without risk isn't paying attention.

Every BOS/Millenium customer has lost all of their money. It could happen to others.

My own advice would be to have accounts at five different books under separate ownership with small amounts in each to limit your risk if there are new indictments

Calvin Eyre is one the biggest shitbags out there. That aside, what is the benefit of using bodog? -110 lines?

screwtape - I only use them for the easy direct deposit/withdrawl with my checking account

I did not mean sound to overly critical of bodog users but it does puzzle me why anyone would consider BD a good book.

Assumption: Most people who wager on this forum (or anywhere for that matter) do so with some sort of expectation of winning.

I don't understand why anyone would play a shady sportsbook with -110 lines when there are far more reliable alternatives?
                  The math is pretty simple.

i use pinnacle primarily, but like to mix it up. I wouldn't say any book could be considered reliable at this point

A lot of people us BoDog for dog lines in football.

As for cancelling the meeting in Vegas I would have had too.

Actually you need more than 1 book so you can shop the lines.
