  • New Non Political Topic Question

Here you go, and hopefully there is some interest:
Tell us all a bad habit(s) you have.
Now this can be something you consider to be a bad habit OR something say your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend tells you is a bad habit even though you don't necessarily agree.

Ok-since there has been limited interest in this sio far and since I am the one who started the thread, let me tell you one of my bad habits:
It is that I spend way too much time looking for something when I misplace it or think I have lost it when the item in question is not worth very much to begin with.
If I misplace a cheap pen, for example, I will spend an inordinate amount of time looking for it, sometimes hours(not all consecutive), and it will bother me if I can't find that particular one even though I have a zillion other ones to replace it.
As another example and this is even worse, there have been times when I have written something done on a scrap piece of paper-for example a phone number, a message to remind myself do do something, etc.
What is really bad is later is that even if I remember what is written on the paper in the first palce but cannot find the paper itself, then again it bothers me and I will spend too much time looking for it.
The worst example of all took place a number of years ago and I still remember it now, because it was compulsive behavior then as it would be now.
What happened is that I had just been notified by the car dealer that the new car I had ordered had just arrived.
Naturally I was thrilled and went to the dealer to pick it up.
Lo and behold on the way home, I reached into my pocket looking for my favorite Parker Jotter pen and it was gone.
Well you can probably figure out the rest of the story:
Well, even though I was thrilled at driving the new car, the pen was on my mind.
Well, first I stopped the car and looked everywhere to see if it had fallen out of my pocket-no luck.
Then, I immediately drove back to the dealer to try to find it there-no luck.
I then went home and looked everywhere-no look and even looked outside and tried to retrace my steps-no luck.
Thankfully after looking everywhere I finally said to myself enough is enough and immediately drove to the nearest stationery shop to buy another one the exact color.
I then tried to enjoy the rest of the day with my new car.
To anyone who understands psychology, it indicates that I have a big problem when my sense of order is upset;it is not the value of the items in question. I just HATE losing/misplacing anything.
Thankfully, I am slightly better today, and would like to think that if the pen incident occurred again, that I would spend less time looking for it,enjoy the car and just forget it after I realized that relative to the car, it was/is not that important to begin with.
Now that I have confessed one of my shortcomongs, lets hear some of yours.
