    2) Playful

As Kittens they're playful. Cats don't play. Dogs are more playful than cats.

    3) Friendly and affectionate

My cat is a bitch. She's has neither of these traits.

    4) Instinctively clean-use litterbox and wash themselves several times a day(yeah I know it isn't with soap and water)

Clean yet but the litterbox stinks up the house.

    5) Can live to be old if raised as an indoor cat.

A negative. Who wants an old boring cat?
Decent points-I think it is a matter of whether the glass is half full or half empty.
Believe me when I when my last cat was very old and sick, it was no day at the beach.I think the same though could be said about an old dog.
In reality, I think it depends on the kind of cat you have;I have been lucky.
I agree that the older a cat gets(especially teen age cats), the less likely it is to want to play.

I have cats. We use to have a bird feeder in our backyard until the neighbor got a cat. The cat was sitting in the bush by the bird feeder and would come out and get the birds, play with them, then kill them. Anytime I see that cat I send out my dog to chase it. If only saftey wasn't a few feet away for the cat jumping up the wall. Well we had to get rid of the birdfeeder.

Oh yes-I would venture to say that if a mouse is ever brave/stupid enough to wander into my house, I won't need to buy a mousetrap.
ps This cat is going on 3 years old, but would not be considered a kitten, which I believed is defined up to one year.
My cat is 8. Here's her day. In the morning she's at my front door waiting for me to let her in from the night before. She eats. Hops in bed and sleeps till I get home from work. When I get home I refill her bowl. She eats. Then I let her out. A few hours later she returns, eats again then lays on my bed. At around 11ish I kick her out of the house. If I don't kick her out she'll wake me at 2ish to be let out.

On weekends during the day she pretty much spends the day eating and sleeping.

Play with my cat? That won't happen. She has no interest. On a rare occasion she might play for 10-15 seconds then she's done. She walks away not wanting to be bothered. Her exercise consists of chasing my dogs away if they stray too close to my bedroom or should I say her bedroom. lol
