  • An Ugly Opinion Question

I don't want to think about this personally myself, but here goes:
This one applies to pet lovers and especially those who currently have a dog or a cat.
How much money would it take for you personally to give up that dog or cat with ZERO possibility you would ever see it again.
Lets also assume the the pet is not real old nor ill.
I am not sure myself I could enumerate an amount. for myself.
I love my current three year old cat, and I could not bear the thought of not having or seeing her again.
I know this is a toughie and not pleasant to think about and Iapologize in advance if it is not appropriate to this forum.

I would not part wth my dog for any amount. He is just over 1 years old, and is a super pet.

This is my 2nd one, and I love them. Easy to train, and they listen well. Very good with kids too.

I have two dogs and a cat. A 4 year old male American Bull Dog, a 3 year old female Pit Bull and a 8 year old female cat.

The Bull dog is a great dog. I wouldn't give him up. He's my little boy. Great personality. Although, he can be needy and whiny.

The female dog if she was gone I'd be sad but I'd get over it quickly.

The cat can run away tomorrow and I'd be thrilled. A moody bitch. No personality. I'd pay someone to take her. I think I'll send her to Savage.

My avatar is a picture of the America Bull dog.

Then who is it in your family who likes cats if you don't mind my asking?

I LOVE cats and have always had one since the time I was a kid.
Believe it or not my wife had an aversion to cats before coming here, but now she and Tootsie(that was the name chosen by the shelter) have a wonderful time playing together.

                      Oh-Oh- Here we go again.
Well, first of all my cat uses the litter box in the basement and covers up her mess pretty well.
There are not many furballs or hair for that matter, as she has short hair.
No cats don't offer protection, but so what? I don't think at least for me anyways that is the prime reason to have a cat.
What good are they(I assume that what you said is in seriousness and not in jest)?
Well, like a dog they can jump on your lap(at least mine does), which helps if things have't gone right on that day.
they can play soccer, chase a ball, a string, a mechanical mouse, etc and provide a lot of laughs in so doing.
I know in my paricular case when we go out for dinner, shopping, etc. it is a LOCK that the cat will be perched in the living room window waiting to for us to return.
Regarding above, and I am sure I speak for many when I say this, it is really satisfying to see the look of contentment on the cat's face and to watch her over roll over playfully to greet us, when we dome into the house.
I am sure dog owners feel just as strongly about their dogs, and while not being a dog lover myself, I can certainly understand their emotions.
ps I used to kid people before I got people as to what would happen if my then wife-to-be couldn't adjust to the cat and even said "If it comes down to a choice between the cat and my wife, the cat stays."
ps Thank god I never had to make thst choice.

Hey Wayne-you would be better served with trying to find plays which "cover" the line.

PS The only real clear advantage I can see to having a dog over a cat is that you can bet on Under"dog" plays, but to my knowledge there is not such a thing as an Under"cat" wager.

I was just curious. You seem open to things shitting in your house as long as you can't see it!
