I can't stand McCarver (Like J. Morgan). Have you ever heard the Madden impression guy (Frank Caliendo)?

    He is hilarious!

No. I'll have to check him out. I've seen the guy but haven't seen his Madden impression.

Growing up as a Met fan after years of listening to Bob Murphy, Lindsey Nelson and Ralph Kiner. McCarver was a breath of fresh air. He gave his viewers a better understanding of the game.

In addition to Vince Scully and going way back to when they were younger/alive, I would give Curt Gowdy and of course Mel Allen honorable mention in doing radio broadcasts for the Red Sox and Yankees respectively.

If your from Wisconsin and you listen to baseball it is Bob Uecker. Great announcer with a heck of a sense of humor.

Also, another old school Wisconsin sports announcer would be Eddie Doucette who did Bucks games back in the 70's and early 80's. Had a nickname for every player and some unique terms such as "In the toaster" and "He finds the magic kingdom".
