I am willing to listen to and try to understand anotHer point of view, but vague, general statements such as yours tell me nothing.

Well you jumped down my throat without knowing any of the above about me....I was just trying to prove a point in this thread that both sides need to slow down, take a breath, and look at things objectively without a party spin to them....

I think that's hard to do when you look to any of the "talking heads" for insiteful journalism....they're just flaming topics to get ratings....

Is there an unbiased source of information out there? no...

I like to get information from many sources...it's amazing how much a story can differ from one news agency to the other...I can get all the liberal opinion I want from my local Atlanta Journal and I can get the conservative from FOX news...

I like to read the same topic in 4 or 5 different locations to see where the baseline facts start to come out. I have no problem saying that I lean a little more right than left....but it doesn't make me blind to issues created and continued by BOTH sides

Do I think the economy is doing well? Yes and you can't give 100% credit to anybody for it, but Bush has played a part

Do I think the war is going as planned? No, but we need to finish what we started.

Immigration? Need to get stronger on it. Build the wall, punish the business, deport who we catch

Tax cuts? Yes, please

Well ofcourse it's very difficult to have an unbiased source of information. Even plain boring facts can be misinterpreted to further a cause.

No need to go further.
I personally like to hear as many points of view as possible even though I will admit I lean toward the Left.
I think the more one reads and/or listens to points of view which agree/disagree with his own, the more one will solidify/modify his own point of view.
I for one don't have all of the answers and feel that there are folks in higher circles, for example educators and/or those who deal with or have dealt with the problems of this country on a day by day basis, who can offer me new things to consider, express an opinion or perhaps clarify a misconception I may have had.

I think one of the better and provocative lines in the show was when Bill Maher said that Bush said that "God is on our side?"
Maher in turn said that the real question should be whether "We are on God's side?"
