Just received this from my friend who works at the SEC
o House Judiciary Subcommittee Approves Internet Gambling Ban
Washington, DC -- The U.S. House Judiciary subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism
and Homeland Security has approved a bill that would ban Internet gambling in the
U.S., Reuters reported. The bill would make it a crime for online casinos to accept
payments from credit cards, checks and wire or Internet transfers. "Virtual betting
parlors have attempted to avoid the application of United States law by locating
themselves offshore and out of our jurisdictional reach," said the bill's author, Rep.
Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.). The bill now moves before the full House Judiciary
Committee.
