  • Gas price

Wanna hear something even more upsetting about gas prices? AAA went before congress and asked to lower the gas prices - FAILED. AAA said that gas should be in the "free market" - basically saying the demanders and suppliers should set the price. But Congress thought otherwise. They believe that if free market were to occur big oil companies would lose more money focring layoffs b/c of low price. So they have been (I didn't know this part) not allowing prices to go lower than a certain level.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!! (I just heard this from fox 5 news, live in MD)

I dont give a shit who's in charge now, why the fuck is gas not allowed to be represented by the free market? Besides that bullshit reason that congress gave?

You know what's funny about these gas prices is that it's basically just something to bitch about. We have people betting $100-$1000 a game but then when you fill up your car and it hits $3 the world is going to crash, but that same person goes to the gas station and pays $1 for water which cost Coke/Pepsi .05 but no one says anything. The companies can and will. If you could up your product because supply and demand then more power to ya. Its' just everyday life that comes and goes with time. If you would have invested in those oil/natrual gas companies in the past year, you could have free gas for years, on there behalf, instead of getting pissed, invest in those companies and you laugh at them just making more money, and yourself.

And while we're on the honesty kick, let's not forget the TAX we pay every time we fill up as well. That can add up to .50 depending on where you live.

I'm not defending anyone here but when we call for the oil companies to change the way they do business, etc., where are the calls to OUR REPRESENTATIVES demanding tax relief? Prices would go down pretty damn quick if we rid ourselves of another government grab for my wallet.

its all the special interest groups they are ruining the entire nation. here in NY in order for your car to pass inspection your car engine must be hooked up to a computer and pass a rigerous emissions exam and if errors are found they must be corrected which comes out of your pocket. All it is is $$$ gone from you. its total BS. if you dont have your car inspected yearly you lose your registration then your license. NY is a joke for lots of things, dont get me started.

You know what, from that point of view, its makes perfect sense. I still dont like spending $60 on a tank of gas but... I need a bicycle.

It's comments like these that lead to arguments over this crap. All of us agree that the situation is out of hand. Some just think that there are multiple factors, not just the oil companies. I don't own any oil investments, but if I did, I certainly wouldn't apologize for it.

Why is that going to lead to an argument. If he does good for him, i would never have a problem with anyone who makes good investments.

And i wasnt talking to you anyway, so why are you responding to me.

Yes i do, and am switching my profits to Natrual Gas with the up and coming Hurricane season!!!! Everyone has there own ideas on what's right and wrong, but I just laugh at how many worry about the gas price, when they have a starbucks coffee in the morning, eat out for lunch and dinner, and during the weekend go golfing while drinking beer and water, but then they are worried about spending $10 more per fill up. I drive a SUV, spend $65 on a fillup, but you want to know what i can do about it. Nothing....It's all these newscasters just making everyone else mad against those oil companies, we sure don't harp at those health care costs, microsoft, airlines industries who are losing billions, but they are still flying, and always will. It is what it is, and just read the paper and laugh, it's really the only thing you can do. Exxon 8.4 billion...amazing, but what can i do about it, nothing, keep driving and letting my vehicle drink that gas
