Originally posted by tkim11Yes, the accesss number does matter. Why are u still using dial-up. In all honesty, Dial up is gonna be slow regardless the acces number. Go with DSL, its not as fast as cable but the its cheap.
as far as dial up servive goes, im in the middle of no
where & i dont have much choice , other than wireless .( not interested) as far as DSL , when im at home i dont have a problem. how do you determine which access number to pick ? do i have to go thru every number & log on ? one thing i did try & that's leaving the lap top on all weekend & it seem's to be moving a little faster. again thank's for the info .

That I dont know. Some services 'provides' you with the fastest access number - not always the case. Did you try deleting history and cookies from your laptop - that might speed things up a bit. You'll have to put in your password and type in th URL's again but I think its worth it.
Back to the access number... Some services shows the number of users/lines (some form of displaying the activity) within that number. Look for the least amount of activity. Also try and use a local access number instead off those 1-888 one's. Good luckNFL Kruise
