I just recently bought my girlfriend an engagement ring that I haven't given her yet. And when I went to get it I opted for a bigger stone rather the best cut or clarity. Many of my friends have been getting engaged lately and it seems that all girls talk about is the size of the center stone. Personally when I look at a girls ring all I notice is how big it is. It's not like people pull out a microscope or eyeglass in a bar or wherever to examine how clean and sharp the stone is. Just my opinion,hope it helps Savage.Comment

Guys-listen I didn't mean to start an argument, and I know you both mean well.
Remember I am talking about a wedding ring and not an engagement ring.
She is a simple lady and doesn't have expensive tastes(not yet anyways).
If you go back and read my original post, I think you may have missed the point, as you guys are talking expensive diamonds, which even SHE doesn't expect for a wedding ring.
Anyways, thanks for the help, and when I arrive in Colombia, I think at this point I want to see what SHE thinks would be appropriate. and/or in terms of price and/or to buy it there or here.
Just remember a good part of what I asked initially centered around how important it is for guys to even wear the wedding ring regularly as well as of course what is appropriate.
Thanks for all the help(not including the arguing).

To try and answer your question I wear a simple gold band and never take it off. As far as her ring, I spent about $2,500 on Mrs. CheChe's ring 17 years ago but I don't think it's the cost, clearity, size, etc., it's the meaning. A life time of joy together is what it's all about.
Telling her everyday how good she looks, a little kiss on the neck once in while, I love you when it's not expected, flowers for no reason, holding hands, opening the door for her, making her know each and everyday she is first on your mind.
