  • Question For Computer Experts

If any of you are particularly good in this area, I have a question for you:
I am a member of Raging Bull and like to regularly read and post on the stock forums(similar to here).
Here is the problem, and it has occurred three times in the past year or so.
Currently I am able to read stock messages on the forum, but when I try to post a replay, i get a strange message stating that the results of the post to which I am trying to respond are unknown.
This happened about a week ago;up until that time I could type a reply and it would show up in the reply box on the forum.
As stated this has happened twice before, and I tried deleting files and cookies, and it didn't work.
What is really curious is that each time it occurs, I am also unable to log in.
What is even more curious is that in the other instances, every several months, the problem somehow corrected itself, and all of a sudden out of nowhere I was able to post again and log in if need be.
I have tried sending messages to Raging Bull, and either the message doesn't go through or I get no response.
Again, when this happens, it happens suddenly, and happens ONLY at Raging Bull(no problem posting on Yahoo).
Obviously I want to know if this problem can be corrected or whether I will have to wait again for the problem to correct itself.
ps I was not banned to my knowledge for anything.
Thanks in advance for anyone who has advice.

ps One thing that is interesting is that I have two computers in my house, and when problem occurs, I can't sign in on either one.
However, when problem existed at one time, I went to a friend's house and was able to sign in and post on their computer;thats weird isn't it?

I am surprised that at least so far no one feels he/she has sufficient computer skills to try to rectify this problem.
I guess I will have to (hopefully) wait for the problem to correct itself again(if it does) or bring it to a computer shop or just live with it(assuming the problem cannot be fixed).

How do you know the problem isn't on their end?

Also did you try using another web browser like Netscape when the problem occured?

Everyone else is able to post EXCEPT me;could the problem still be on their end?
I use MSN and Dell(i have Dells) and have contacted them;they ran some tests and said problem is not on their ends either.
The fact that I can't even log in on my computers but can on someone else's computer may somehow be the key to all of this.

As I said in the first post, I did delete cookies and files and do this every several days;it doesn't do it.
It could be some kind of security issue for all I know, and if so, I don't know what to do.
I could always reinstall windows but that is a pain in the ass, and it may not work.

I don't believe I just fixed the problem on my own through trial and error.
I simply unplugged the modem and router and shut the computer off.
I then restarted it and everything is fine again;you figure it out-all I know is that I can post again on both computers.
It is really curious why only that particular site was affected in the first place.

                        Click

Start > Control Panel > Internet Options, should see it in the general tab right in the middle of the window
