Help! (Cars)

Im thinking about trading in my toyota for a new Pontiac Torrent. My question is on the reliability and resale value of pontiacs... anybody know much about this? The torrent is a new car to the brand and offers a lot of car for the $$$. Any insight would be appreciated!

Im just used to owning the Toyotas where the reliability and resale values are great....

Doesn't matter - have to buy US car - Foreign car makers are killing and stealing this industry from us. Need to support the US makers.. US quality has gone up. Take a look at the Ford Fusion - great looking car and quality is record setting ..

I work for Ford, Toyota,Chevy ..... All automakers are making good cars now the problem is and still will remain peoples perception on reliability. Toyota has a great history and you definately can't go wrong with a Highlander or 4Runner. Majority of cars or parts are now made in US, but of course still foreign. The worry with Pontiac Torrent, which I agree a nice car is your resale value. I have heard speculations that with all the problems GM is having they may stop one or more of there lines(possibly Pontiac), that could have a significant impact on you. If you need 4x4 I would look at Toyota, if you want to stay Domestic I would lool at Explorer, Equinox, Trailblazer... but not NEW. To much of a hit for u. Buy with 10k miles and save $$$$. For instance 2005 Explorer with 10-20k miles XLT some Lariat sold at auctions for around $18k. New they MSRP in the mid $30s. Something to think about, a little more than my two cents worth.

I have a 97 Pontiac Grand Am and 4 friends have Pontiacs.They are great cars.I also have a GMC Jimmy Sport that I like a lot.

My brother and I run two Pontiac Dealerships, they are great cars. I drive a Torrent and love it. Any car or truck (gm,chrysler,ford ) is only as good as the dealership that is going to take care of it.
