"HYPE, and they "will come".........
Yesterday I hyped up a demolisher play and had 1296 views....My regular post had 492.....The demolisher play was no more than my top rated play for the day....The play lost---wasn't even close..........I rated it a 10* play-----and played it as such.........
On my regular thread I was NBA 4-1 for +6.90 units, and in the NCAA Hoops, 5-2 for +8.73 units....Regular plays 9-3 for +15.63 units.........The demolisher was 0-1 for -10.40 units.....so overall I was 9-4 for +5.23 units..........
Now which one do you think sticks in your mind....yeh, you're right, the hyped up, big play loss.........
Looking at the comments in the demolisher play, shows some that followed, some that doubted, and some that still don't know if I was serious.....This proves some valid points to me....
#1 There is apparent damage when a play and record is hyped....Newbies and regulars..........
#2 Throwing out undocumented records (fabulous ones) can be harmful and misleading...........
#3 I portrayed toal confidence (arrogance) in my pick---and it got crushed.......Is there a place for it here...does it cause harm---you betcha.........
#4 For those of you that think that kind of BS is not harmful, please re evaluate your thoughts before covering/protecting this kind of BS..........
#5 Had I just added this play to my regular plays, * rate it as I always do, I would have had 1296 lees hits to my thread...
#6 Multiple hits on hyped up plays, just fuels ones ego....Some look for it, thrive on it, need it, thus they sing a song in lieu of just throwing the plays out there.........
#7 I've preached all along, this kind of stuff is not good for anyone....I've been questioned for questioning this kind of tactic.......Some have condoned this kind of BS, and some have actualy supported it.........
#8 I could whine and make the statement, if you don't like it, then don't come to my thread and play my plays....I think we're all about a little more than that attitude.....Thus my reference to "I'll take my BasketBall" and go home.........
#9 Please understand why I try and weed out these cancers......They are contagious....If you've picked up nothing from this, then so be it....I can't help or teach you....If you have, great............
#10----It all boils down to what I and many other cappers have been saying all along....Don't fall for or believe all that HYPE crap....when a person has to hype, he needs help.......
Sorry we lost the play---but thats not the first or last 10* play I'll lose........I will be posting more demolishers, which are actual plays....Now bear in mind I lost my first one, not my fifth one.....Had I hit 4 before this one, I'd be 4-1 and looking good.....If I hit my next four, I'll also be 4-1....Looking good......Not enough games to classify one as good or bad.....
Had I hit this one, how many of you would be starting threads, "Wheres Kaptain with his Demolisher"....Maybe not you, but there would be some....It's human nature.....
The Moral of this story is "Beware of HYPERs....they'll carnival bark and lure you in, cost you money"....best to all of you....
Anyone interested---I counted the 0-1 loss -10,40 units in my record...................I would've counted it had I won......My record is documented "good or bad" on this Forum....Anyone bragging about 49-4 records elsewhere, beware...........kapt
