First of all, let me clear up some questions from the other thread.
I have never been a service up to this point. I have had a website where I posted my plays for FREE since 1998. I found this site a few years back and decided to post those same plays here everyday as well. During this time, several people have visited my site from here and I as well have sent several of today's BC members to this site from mine.
I do not want to be a service, but sometimes in life you have to make choices that you don't like, and this was the toughest one I have had to make as long as I can remeber. This is the email that I sent out to everyone on my email list from my site:
Guys,
I am making some changes to EZWinners. Let me first
tell you why. I was hit with a very nasty IRS audit
about six months ago. As they began to dig deeper and
deeper they nailed me for tax on gambling winnings. To
make a long story short, after obtaining a lawyer and
settling this matter the settlement was not very
favorable. After paying what I could I am still in a
15K deficit to the IRS. Needless to say I need to
generate some extra income and I will be charging a
fee of $25 per week for selections in each package. I
will have an NBA, NFL and NCAA Hoops packages starting
on Monday. NCAA Football selections will remain free
until the bowls start. At that point I will have a
bowl package for $50. I will still provide a free
selection for each sport, so If you don't want the pay
selections please check for the free picks. I want to
thanks all of you guys for all of the support, and
once I get this monkey off of my back I will switch
back to a totally free site.
Sincerely,
John
I have paid the IRS 20k in the last month and they are now docking my pay and trying to put leans against me. Why don't I just bet on my picks? Because scared money does not win and I can't afford to lose right now. Is this a permanent thing? No, once I take care of this I plan to go back to what I was doing. Hopefully team BDJTW will finish strong in the Hilton Contest and I will be done with this in seven more weeks.
I know I was going to get a lot of grief for doing this, and I hate to lose the respect of so many great people that are here, but its a choice I had to make at this time.
I still will post some plays here for those that are interested, and I WILL NOT be hyping shit up in the Services Forum with the rest of the trash.
I hope everyone understands that decision that I have had to make at this time.
Regards,
John
