I guess on the other hand it is easy for me to say it shouldn't offend anyone, and apparently I cannot put myself in your place as you are not of the same political persuasion as I.
If I offended you or anyone else, I apologize, and in the future will try to excercise better judgment in what I post.

I just get fired up....Rush Limbaugh is a windbag....I am a republican, but i do not toe the company line......I just was brought up to repsect our leaders and at some level we have to have some faith......Are they always right?? absolutely not??? i hate the fact that young men are bleeding in iraq....but that is the deal and i support them wholeheartedly......I just do not like to pile on and blame everything on a party or an affiliation...it seems more and more stuff is partisan politics and along party lines......I support whoever our commander in chief is and give him the respect he has earned whether i like it or not....bitching about it will not change that.....i am not a finger pointer...like in iraq, katrina, could clinton have got bin laden....all that shit is monday morning qb'ing....i try to deal with what is....not what could have been....we have turned into a country of blamers....i think we each ought to look in the mirror and toughen up....

i have the utmost respect for you.....like i said...certain topics i shlould not even comment on......more my fault than anyones

Tony-I was saddened to see some of the conversations get so heated, and perhaps I should have considered the possibility that the thread might make some people enemies.
        That was not that intent.
On the other hand isn't it nice that Mary Madeline and James Caraville, who are about as different as night and day politically can be married and have a couple of kids?

Techfan-I respect your opinion, but have to correct you on one thing:I went to Colombia NOT because there was no lady good enough for me but exactly for the opposite reason-in my several years of searching on the internet and being a member of several big internet dating sites, my perception was that I was not good enough for American women. Do you think I did my little thing merely to try to be different? No way and the proof is in the pudding.
Sure there are some wonderful American ladies, but I didn't have the good fortune to find any who had the type of real values which matter in life.

Tech-I know Iraq is a very touchy issue and even more so when you have family fighting there;I feel awful when anyone is killed or maimed(on both sides for that matter, including women and children), and I realize it is is easy to be an armchair quarterback.
However, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion about this war, and the fact that we have had so many different opinions on this thread alone as well as about Bush just shows how differently all of us think about matters.
I just learned this week that my next door neighbor's son was wounded in iraw-shrapnel in face and punctured eardrum but is home now-alive and in pretty good condition(he could have been killed).
I suppose the debate about this war will go on forever as did the one in Vietnam.
Obviously like you, I would not want to live anywhere else other than in the US.
That being said, I sense a lot of hostility between people who are opposite sides of the fence regarding President Bush and the war. As I said before, just about everyone is extreme in their beliefs with little middle ground regarding above.
Obviously the goal of all is to make Iraq independent and bring our troops home;if only it was as easy as that at this point.

Last sentence in this reply is completely uncalled for. Question was asked and people here answered. Do you believe that freedom of speech should be taken away?

Bush's approval ratings were just released today and show them at an alltime low, anywhere from 35-39%.
Whether you personally like the way Bush is doing his job, the only sure thing is that the majority of Americans do not.

I think we all should recognize that anyone who takes the time to start a discussion about the current state of the country, or take part in the discussion about the current state of the country, whether they support the administration or argue that the administration is not performing well, loves his or her country. I love my house, but that does not mean I am not going to try and improve it. What makes our country great is the ability to have these discussions. That is the freedom that makes us different. To say if you don't like the current state of the country, leave...is to support dictatorship. And isn't that supposed to be one of the reasons we have people dying in Iraq, to end a dictatorship and to "spread" freedom? Maybe I am confused, but I think anyone who shares their views, whichever side they are on, are helping make this country better. And I support all of you for that.

The new ABC poll really says alot about the state of our nation. 66 percent said that Bush does not understand the problems of people like them, and 58 percent said that Bush is NOT honest and trustworthy. 58 percent also responded that Bush does not share their values. Only two percent replied that their confidence in the Bush Administration was increasing while a WHOPPING 49 percent responded that their confidence was decreasing.

Perhaps the best stat: 41 percent stated that religious conservatives have too much influence over the Bush Administration. That number is up almost 10 points since July. BRING ON EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH TO CURE THE SICK!!!

People are starting to catch on. It took them awhile, but they are beginning to see that the emperor has no clothes.

LOL!!! If he was running a business, he would have been fired long ago. It is too bad that people take party loyalties into account when voting for that idiot. Perhaps the best question: What job would Bush have if he was not the President? I am not sure that he is qualified to do anything.
