The first thing I would have grabbed would have been my dogs. I don't know how some of those people left their animals. I was watching the news I believe last week and they said some of the dogs were eating human carcasses.

Looking at those pictures make me wonder how the dogs got into some of the place they were found.

Especially the picture of the dog on the window sill and the shepard on the roof of a car in the middle of nowhere.

              Great Link Mike.

This may be a stupid statement, but that is the one and only reason why I didn't leave my home for the hurricane. Most hotels do not accept animals/pets. I could not see myself leaving my dog behind or putting him up in a kennel. I'm a huge "softy" when it comes to animals.

I know I will most likely hear it from some of you but there is NO WAY I would ever leave my dogs and save myself ... NO FRIGGIN WAY ... That would be like leaving part of the family ... I would be the last one to be rescued ... and believe me, I am no fvkin hero but like Tony said, they are as loyal to you as anything will ever be ... This really pisses me off also ... I could never leave them ...

You're right spark.. When I leave my house to go out anywhere, my dog jumps in the window and watches me pull out of my driveway until im out of sight. How anyone could pull away like that for good on their animals is a disgrace.

It Is So Easy To Point Fingers By Those That Weren't A Part Of The Disaster, New Orleans Low Income, Diminshed Intellectual Capacity, Being Polite Here, Made The Situation What Was And Always Will Be Regardless Of Blame Being On Gov. i do have empathy for many people....however, i still believe we as leaders of our families MUST be held responsible for our families well being!!!! yes, there are many of limited intellectual capacity and they should not have pets was my point....that is all.....There are many lessons here......but you are not the one to teach me what is the lesson here........also just because you were close to the disaster does not give you a monopoly on the opinions of what happened there.......GL buddy

That's because pets are always loyal and with humans that's not the case.
