Are you kidding me the real issue is not what we call them. It's getting them help. As I stated who the fuck cares what they are called.

OK Webster, I mean SexyBrunette what's the full definition? The defintion I posted about is the full definition. And I did look it up. I guess you are using the politically correct dictionary.

SexyBrnunette, its people like you and these BS issues are one of the leading causes that this country is so fucked up. It's a fucking word. Who cares? Go ahead and call me a Yank or a whop or a honky. WHO CARES!

It boils down to who's secure and who's insecure. People who are secure with themselves could care less how they are refered. Go ahead and call me a moron. It won't bother me because I know who I am.

If you are offended that is your problem......I do not apologize for my stance.......too many people knuckle under to be politically correct.....i for one do not give a shit

        AMEN! Well said.

Ooops I better not say Amen. It's not politically correct in our schools.

          Tom Petty: Refugee

We got some thin’ we both know it,
We don’t talk too much about it
Ain’t no real big secret, all the same,
          Somehow we get around it

Listen, it don’t really matter to me
Baby, you believe what you wanna believe
You see, you don’t have to live like a refugee

          Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have
          Kicked you around some
Tell me why you wanna lay there,
          Revel in your abandon

Honey, it don’t make no difference to me
Baby, everybody’s had to fight to be free
You see, you don’t have to live like a refugee
No baby, you don’t have to live like a refugee

          Baby, we ain’t the first
I’m sure a lot of other lovers been burned
Right now this ain’t real to you
It’s one of those things you got to feel to be true

          Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have
          Kicked you around some
Who knows, maybe you were kidnapped,
Tied-up, taken away, and held for ransom

Honey, it don’t really matter to me
Baby, everybody’s ha d to fight to be free
You see, you don’t have to live like a refugee
No, you don’t have to live like a refugee
Baby, you don’t have to live like a refugee

They should be called Evacuees or Victims of Katrina

When I read and hear the term refugee it makes me think of Foreigners.

And I agree there's more important issues at hand right now than worrying about this.

I work for a government office that provide for the needy and low income housing like section 8 housing. We are taken in evacuees but source is leaking and they are bumping people locally that are next in line for housing so we can get housing for the people coming. No offense but I know alot of people in our community won't be happy especially those waiting their turn for the housing to get knocked off by those of the hurricane victim. As for me I'm not bias but shouldn't people help the locals that aren't fortunate along with those affected by Katrina?

What it makes one think of and what it actually means are 2 different things.

The ones that are getting bumped do they currently have housing or are they homeless?
