Back from helping my brother bunker his house down. It's still a great day to fly a kite! The winds have picks up to about 30MPH or so, but the storm has yet to start. I am not in New Orleans, I live north of the lake... just outside of New Orleans about 20 miles or so. New Orleans on average is about 4 ft under sea level, we are about 9 ft above sea level, but with 12' - 18' surges there is no telling what is going to happen. Like LSUfan said, we will do the best we can to keep everyone posted, but no promises. If things go out, it could be weeks before we can get anything. And no we don't have underground phone lines, sorry.

PS. Someone call my Physical Chemistry professor, Dr. Stevens, and ask him if I can turn in my Quantum Physics homework that is due on Friday, on next Monday :christmas .

Tigger- Tallked to Dr. Stevens. He says you would come up with anything to get out of doing your homework- even a Hurricane. He says he will accept it Monday if you can figure out how to divert the flood waters and storm surge. I told him - you were at Home Depot now working on that very problem. Take Care

I talked with LSUfan and he said the rain is beginning to start down where he is... about 70 south of me.

Pressure is STILL DROPPING!!! The wind is not getting any faster, as if 175 MPH winds and 210 MPH gusts isn't enough, but with the pressure dropping... it means the eye is getting tighter, thus the storm is getting stronger. Damn you Katrina, Damn you!

LoveDoc - See the LA/MS borderline (exactly where they predict this thing to go through) I live 5 miles west of there, just north of the lake in a city named Slidell. Population about 75,000 or so.

Alright Gentlemen.... within the past half hour, it's gone from a beautiful day to the gates of hell outside. It's bunker time for the Cajuns!!!

I have to shut this down, but given a few moments sometime in the future, I'll be sure to come on and update (given we have power).

Take care and please everyone do what you will and pray, we're gonna need it. This bitch is nothing nice! I'm OUT!
