Limewire is what I have used in the past, but I must warn you, it is illegal and the music industry is striking back.

A man from the town next to mine, here in Louisiana, just got caught by the music industry. He had over 550 song on his computer. His fine was over $400,000. The music industry will settle for $3500. He said on the news that he would just pay the settlement.

Techfan - I have WinMX (the old school version, I think they charge for it now), LimeWire (this is better for videos and pictures than music), and also Kazaa (the only thing you have to watch about Kazaa is viruses run rampant and you have to scan everything before using it.

it was in todays news that AOL is setting up a beta version for the web that will have a lot of their now proprietary content for free. they plan on becoming a portal site like Yahoo and Google. They are supposed to have a lot of music available. If you go to aol.com there is a link to the beta version where you set up a free password and user name.
