Take this serious!!!

This truely is sad. I was a police officer for 14 years. I have seen may of deaths, arrested many of drunk drivers, and made several "death notifications." The death notifications were the worst. Those families were destroyed. My worst one was 2 nights before Christmas.

I drink very little, on occassion mostly, and only when I'm home, or not driving. I NEVER take a chance. Too many times I've seen people who only had "2 drinks." Those are the ones who think they are not drunk. They feel just fine. But their reaction time is slowed down by the alcohol, and they fail to see this. They thinks it's alright to drive, and have the "nothing will happen" attitude.

This site is family to me. I wish all of you guys and your families the best. Take this very seriously, Don't Drink And Drive!!! I know there are some young guys on this site who like to party, but you may not be with us long if you don't take this seriously. Call a taxi or get a ride from a friend. Lots of people don't want to leave their vehicle behind. They think it will be too much trouble to go and get it the next day.

Spark posted this for a reason.....HE CARES ABOUT US!!!!! Thanks Spark, you are the best!! I truely hope this thread and story reaches a few people here.

wow...a real eye opener...i am like LSU..i take it very seriously...i do not drink while i am at the wheel...period.....

i think back when i was in my 20's and realize how many times i got behind the wheel when i should not have....it could very well been me or a lot of other guys i know who could have done this to the poor woman.......i just thank God it was not.....

anyways.....truly makes me thankful....

TRAGIC.In 1979 I was in an accident,I was drinking,lucky no one was seriously hurt.I never drink and drive again.Every time I see or read a story like this I thank God for giving me a second chance.

Wow!! That is disturbing!!! Very sad. It really goes to show you how smart you have to be in the decisions that you make. Drinking and driving just don't mix!!! I would drive w/ a couple in me and think i am fine. NEVER AGAIN

Wow that is really sad and a very informative site for people that drink and drive. People always think it won't happen to me and generally they are right. However, the ones that it does happen to will always look back and think of how dumb it was to drink & drive.

I always wonder in situations like that if I was her would I want to continue to live. I really don't think that I would as all of her hopes and dreams have been shattered. I know she still has family and friends, but do you see her married with children etc.?

So if you guys were in this position that she is in would you want to continue on?
