BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) Pat Ewing Jr. is transferring from Indiana after two seasons with the Hoosiers.
Ewing, the son of former NBA great Patrick Ewing, will transfer to another school at the end of the spring semester, coach Mike Davis said Wednesday.
``Pat is an exceptional athlete with a lot of potential, and we're disappointed to see him go,'' Davis said in a statement. ``We wish him nothing but the best.''
A 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward, Ewing started five of the 29 games in which he played this season, averaging 4.0 points and 3.8 rebounds a game during Indiana's 15-14 season.
He was a top recruit for Davis out of National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Md., but only averaged 2.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game as a freshman.
``I've spent a lot of time with my family and given this decision a lot of thought, and I feel it is in my best interests to pursue my education and basketball career at another school,'' Ewing said.
