  • Any Computer Wizards Help!!

    I am trying to download a program and it says i lack a MSVCP60.DDL file. I heard that that is a bad file not sure. What do I have to do to get this program downloaded. I tries Google and found it but cant get it to work. Thank You to all.

    Go to Microsoft.com and run a search. It will pull a bunch of helpful information on the file for you. The actual file name is MSVCP60.DLL not DDL when you run the search. That could be why you were having trouble finding it. Below is an article I have in my company database. Good luck!!

    When you start one of the programs listed in the "Applies to" section, you may receive the following error message:
    The MSVCP60.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL
    CAUSE
    This issue may occur if either of the following conditions is true: • You install the program and then try to start the program before you restart your computer.
    • The Windows Libraries Update is not installed on your computer.

    RESOLUTION
    To resolve this issue, restart your computer.

    If the issue continues to occur, download and install the Windows Libraries Update. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Visit the following Microsoft Web site:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?
    2. Next to Search using, click Keyword Search.
    3. In the Keywords box, type libraries update.
    4. In the Operating System box, click the appropriate operating system for your computer.
    5. Under Show Results For, select All Downloads, and then click Find It!
    6. Under Title, click the Microsoft Libraries Update Web link.
    7. Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install the Microsoft Libraries Update.

      its something with your microsoft runtime library. just do a google search for MSVCP60.DLL and try to download that file. that should help

        wow i see u replied right as i was replying lol...yea whenever i have a problem with my computer that i cant figure out why the first thing i do is search because more than likely someone else has had this problem before.

          Exactly, 99.999999999% of the time someone else had the problem first and the resolution is somewhere online.
