Acme Oyster House has always been included in my N.O. circuit..****** White's, kind of across the street on St. Peter from Pat O'Brien's was always a great local bar but haven't been there in a few years, both Roland & Karen are gone so don't know if it's still good but my picture is on the wall!...Be sure to impress upon your son the merit in being polite to the NOPD...as anywhere, pickpockets abound in the crowds...enjoy, nonigoji

go to Central Grocery Co. on 923 Decatur st.the best sandwich you'll ever have" muffuletta".. that is the name of the sandwich, they have them through out the city. but the best is at the Central Grocery Co. have good trip

Went to NO every weekend for about 5 years straight..."muffuletta" at CGC is definitely good advice...was a natural stop for us...The advice on the seafood platter at Ral & kac is also good -- plenty of food...

advice on pickpockets very important--keep your wallet/money in front pocket--have wife leave purse at Room, or bring small one she can put in jacket/pocket or carry small change purse...

Musuem is a go for all--14 year old included...Lots of "Historic"--Civil War sites over there...Take the Paddle Boat for a slow enjoyable cruise along the Miss River banks of New Orleans...

Get a glimpse of some of those "Street Artists" at Jackson Square--during the day--avoid at night...Dixie Beer Brewery is right on the waterfront...one of the worlds oldest/smallest breweries...They only out out a certain amount--have for years--thats it....

all in all---great place to visit--see things--eat the best food you ever will...People are friendly...Now we need to figure out something the 14 year old would enjoy...Maybe the Superdome...It'll take your breath away when you first enter and come out to see the Field...have fun...be safe...kapt
