  • To All Bettor's Chat Newcomers

My name is Coverboy and I'd like to welcome all the new members to Bettor's Chat . We have a great community here with a nice mixture of personalities from all over the world. Enjoy yourselves and feel free to contribute in any way you can .... your insights are always welcomed and appreciated .

The following comments are obvious to the seasoned gamblers and veterans here but I want to target you newcomers with the hope that I can help you get started here in the proper manner ... perhaps help you avoid squandering money needlessly by making rookie mistakes .... and perhaps helping you earn money .

Let's get started with an all too common and unfortunate occurance. It happened today and will happen again so please keep your guard up and stay mentally tough . What we do here is serious business. Know this going in.

Today, a tout by the name of " Big " Al Mc Mordie encouraged any and everyone to bet on the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. the L.A. Dodgers in what was billed as his MLB Game of the Year. The terms were that he was to be paid only if the game won .... misleading everyone to believe that he was extremely confident in the outcome or he will not be paid.
This is a slick little scam and OK it goes like this .... It's so simple ... so obvious .... and ever so effective. No greedy bastard in his right mind would ever give out Arizona in a " Pay after you Win " GOY deal without having a partner or partners who gave out the Dodgers as the flip side. Think of it .... if it were all or nothing wouldn't one give out The Yankees or St.Louis or Boston or any of the elite teams with a very favorable pitching matchup going?
Instead he chose Arizona with the world famous Elmer Dessens as their starter. No Joke, Boys and Girls. Elmer Dessens starting pitcher in his Game of the YEAR. When this game was made public here a few of our veterans immediately questioned it and with good reason.... they knew better and saw it coming.

Since there are so many insecure gamblers holding so much money out there they reason that half the pie is better than none and there are plenty of impressionable novice bettors to go around as well.

This Mc Mordie is with a group of thugs linked with Marc Lawrence ( Their leader and a very high profile low life who cares nothing about making anyone money except himself ) Their group gave out both sides equally to insure a nice pay day.

This is but one of a thousand different ways a novice will get hoodwinked and I'm compelled to bring it to your attention . If I can save one person some money then all this typing will have been well worth it.

There is enough talent here in Bettor's Chat such that no one needs to give any pest bastard tout one red cent outside this community.
Earning a profit by the end of each year is a slam dunk certainty if and only if you abide by the following:

Read and study all the posts by the regulars here in BC every day. You'll need to carry this into the fall and winter months to get a true feel for each handicapper's specific sport strength . There are excellent handicappers here for each sport ... some are very good year round for all sports . I know this will take time but the return for your patience and self control will be greatly rewarded . You can beat every sport if you follow that sport's specialist .... Even Women's Basketball and The Canadian Football League.

You might want to reach out to the Bettors Chat Administration for advice as to who are in fact the most successful cappers for each sport.
I can and will give you some but I may offend a few of my friends if I omit them by accident. Once I see their response I'll certainly share with you the ones on my list .
I'm sure my friends will give you their opinions as to the more successful handicappers as well . We love sharing the wealth .

I believe this method will get you started properly and will save you money early by preventing you from making naive mistakes and help you earn money quickly too.

Best of Luck and again , Welcome

Well put. I personally fell you should pick your own games. Look at it like this.....

If you cant pick your own winners, or at least some here, some there, why are you gambling? I know people with no clue about pointspreads and money lines but place bets because "handicappers" gave out the plays. I learned fast that just because its a capper pick doesnt mean it will even be close.

There is no logical reason to even bet on a team like Arizona at this point in the year without Randy Johnson on the mound. Same thing with the Expos, BlueJays, and Mariners. Sure they will win games, but why roll the dice on them playing for nothing now.

The Value of the underdog is going to greatly decrease over the course of teh next month. This part of the season is where champions are made. Look at the Marlins last year, this is where they really started playing some ball. Ask yourself, are the Dbacks the Marlins of last year. Right now for me, if I continue with this baseball season, is going to be betting within the NL East, NL West, AL Central, AL West. And heres why.

1.) Tight races - Meaning every game will count. You can bet ur last dollar that the home teams are going to be playing for 2 out 3.

2.) I firmly believe betting within in a division is easier. these teams see each other a shit load of times a year. They know what their opponent has and doesnt have.

3.) Look at the AL East. Is there really a reason to pick the BlueJays ever again this season. The yankees should win the division. Seems like the Red Sox accept this and are playing for the Wild Card.

4.) Pitching matchups - Youll see pitchers face each other sometimes 3-4 times a year. catch that within 2 weeks and fade the 1st winner.

5.) Bet on a team that is going to give you 200% everytime out because they know that game could mean they are in the postseason or just watching it. MY GOY was Texas only 130 at home. They were going against an ALL Star and Vegas tried to catch people sleeping. If yo didnt have to send someone to the all star game, the bluejays wouldnt have!!!

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice. Can you provide some of the best names at each sport so novices like myself so we know who to look for? This is a great site and it has been very interesting reading over that last 2 months or so, but I am still struggling to get ahead and any help would be welcomed!

Coverboy thanks I'm one who got scammed on Big Al's pick I didn't buy into Arizona but it created enough doubt that I didn't play the Dodgers who were one of the games I had targeted this morning I have been a registered member for about 3 weeks but have been following ez winner for quite a while and since I have been reading this forum there have been some people who have stood out Wayne is great you and your other wise men have been great Sp Connection has been great on Canaidian Football goldvike when he posts seem to be really good ez winner even though he has been in a slump I'm sure he will be over 100 unit profit by the end of the season there are some others that I like but can't remember the names with out looking back at the posts.
Homer , BigMike , the other 2 wise men Kaptain TOF and Kmann Savage 1 , a bunch of people have great insights and many of you have made me feel right at home . I play every day and am very serious about it and this forum has been very helpful and the fact that you welcome newcomers and everybody seems to want everybody to beat the book is refreshing. The feeling of community and sharing on this site is truly unique from any site Ive every found. I hope to someday be respected enough to contribute to the greater good. Sorry I went on , but I do appreciate and the forum . I wish everybody good luck and smart plays

Great writeup, Coverboy, and I hope all read it and become wise to the ways of Big Al Mc"Scammer" or Big Al Mc"Moron" if he really felt Arizona warranted GOY status.

In the coming days I'll recommend whom I feel are the ones to watch for each sport . There will be ones that I'll miss and no disrespect intended. I'll also reach out to my friends Kmann and Frank B for their insights . They are trusted veterans and friends whom you can always turn to for advice.

Perhaps some of the other vets here can add to the thread to give the newcomers a feel for who to look for, and I urge my friends to only provide solid information and advice. Try to limit your tips to only the cappers here " IN HOUSE " If we all know who is good among us it will lessen the need for us to look elsewhere . ( Scamming Services )

The new blood here are the veterans of tomorrow and you all are encouraged to contribute in order that we remain on top in the future. We are here first and foremost to earn money . Never lose sight of that fact.

              Talk with you soon, -Coverboy

If you are going to use a service, which I don't recommend, at least use one that is monitored by a third party. The Service Thread is chock full of fly-by-night losers. Do your homework and check the monitors yourself and see who is good.

If you are not going to make an effort to do your own handicapping, at least make an effort to research an established and monitored handicapper. Don't take anyone's word for it. Even the "seasoned veterans" on this site.

If you are not able to do any of this on your own, you probably shouldn't be handicapping because you will end up losing all of your money eventually. If you are serious about making money on a L/T basis, you have to treat it like a part-time job.

                Good luck.

                  We think alike. Good Job!

I came to work with the intentions on starting a similar thread. It pains me to see newbies come to this site seeking the JUNK Big Al, Marc Loser Lawrence and dozens of others release on a daily and weekly basis. All their GOS (game of something) BS hype.

In yesterday's service request thread GovJim posted the analysis from SGH on the LA/Arizona game. Read analysis here:

I don't know SGH however, that is solid analysis on that game. Here's where I have the most trouble with all these BS GOY selections. What responsible gambler is going to risk a large chunk on their bankroll on a team such as Arizona?

To finalize, when's the last time cappers such as Big Al delivered on a GOY? Most are ticket burners. In the future when we see these cappers release these GOY selections fellow members should start a GOY FADE thread.

I agree with 4realyo follow the cappers here. They are equal or better than any scamdicapper. Best of all!!! They don't charge anything for sharing their picks. Also, you can be certain the shared selections that member here release they are also betting on.

Does anyone actually think Big Al bet on Arizona yesterday?

I wonder what gutless Big Al told his customers today.
Its too bad gambling isn't legal everywhere;then Ralph Nader types could really pay for picks under cover for some of these frauds like Big Al and then give documented proof how they lie and conspire with other cappers in order to ensure that they(the cappers) make money without giving a shit whether the games actually win or not for their customers.

                          Savage

A few of his gang gave out L.A. yesterday to balance out the " Pay after you Win " scam.

Too many crappy services are being reported here and it serves no purpose whatsoever.

In fact I'll bet it's harming some.

Ever hear the old expression " Less is More " ? Well it should apply to us here.

First of all i would have to respectfully disagree with you coverboy and i think that what you are saying about Al is misinformed and really unneccessary. While there are A LOT of handi-scammers out there you cannot include Al in this group, AL pracitces the utmost integrity, honesty and professionalism in the business. You can call up Al and talk to him anytime. You are trying to judge AL on one game, his game of the year ,which he unfortunately lost. AL throughout THE ENTIRE BASEBALL SEASON is currently ranked number 1 by the sports monitor posting a 55-27 record and a 21.7% Rate of Return on investment. I follow all of als plays on a daily basis and these records are accurate, i invite you to track them with me.. You accuse Al of being associated with Mark Lawrence,

Saying that "This Mc Mordie is with a group of thugs linked with Marc Lawrence ( Their leader and a very high profile low life who cares nothing about making anyone money except himself ) Their group gave out both sides equally to insure a nice pay day. "

This is a flat out mistruth as Mark Lawrence was on the New York Yankees yesterday as evidenced below:

Marc Lawrence 100% American League Game Of Week!: Don’t make a move on Sunday’s MLB card until you cash with Marc Lawrence’s American League Game Of The Week. !

Game: New York Yankees at Detroit Tigers Jul 18 2004 1:05PM
                            Prediction: New York Yankees
                            Grade: LOSER (-150)
Reason: Play On: NY Yankees w/Lieber Note: Yankees Leiber is in great KW form while Tigers are 0-7 this season in games after having won six or seven of their previous eight games.

                            Mark Lawrence lost this game.

Al Mcmordie had some very key points in his write up of the AZ game , as some of my systems that i use to handicap aligned with his:

Game: Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks Jul 18 2004 6:05PM
                            Prediction: Arizona Diamondbacks
                            Grade: Loser (-100)
Reason: At 6:05 PM, on ESPN, our 5* Major League Baseball Game of the Year is on the Arizona Diamondbacks over Los Angeles, as Arizona falls into 2 baseball systems of mine that have effective win percentages of 71% and 70%. The Dodgers are minus 1.35 on the overnight line, so Arizona comes back at plus 1.25. This is an action play--you don't have to specify pitchers. Although our selection doesn't hinge on the starters, it's worth noting that the Dodgers' Jose Lima has been awful on the road, as well as in daytime starts. Over the past 4 seasons, Lima is 9-12 on the road with a 5.69 ERA, and 4-13 in daytime starts with a 7.38 ERA. Elmer Dessens' Home ERA is 3.13 this year, and the Diamondbacks will finally get their full complement of players back in the lineup today. Last night, lefties Steve Finley (21 HRs, 45 RBI) and Luis Gonzalez (15 HRs, 43 RBI) sat out since lefty Odalis Perez got the start for L.A, but they'll return on Sunday. Another player who will be back in the lineup is catcher Brent Mayne, who had been injured since June 9 with a lower back strain. Finally, Arizona's leading hitter, Danny Bautista (.315, 48 RBI) made his first start last night after missing the previous 8 games due to (like Brent Mayne) a lower back strain, and got 2 hits in his final 3 at-bats, including a double. I expect Arizona's offense to get in gear today with this talent finally together on the field. And that will spell trouble for Los Angeles, as the Dodgers are NOT hitting the ball. L.A. is batting just .244 in July, even though they've won 12 of 14 games. They are winning only because their pitching has a 3.00 ERA this month, but Lima will get rocked. Take Arizona as our MLB Game of the Year. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

While it was a losing play, and losses do happen... if Al was trying to scam people would he go into such depth and detail for this game?? Things happen and you cant win all the time, as soon as AL loses a "Big" game you jump all over him when he is the #1 DOCUMENTED Baseball handicapper currently in the Nation...

If you gotta complain about the services then here is a suggestion: DONT USE THEM!! I use them and am very pleased with the results....
....CUZ I'M RICK JAMES BBYYAATTTCCCHHH!!! Show Charlie Murphy ya titties!!

                              Coverboy,

I know you have the best intentions and are looking out for the good peeps on this forum but I agree with Sweet Lou. You can't single out one guy when there have been countless others here who have done the same and didn't get the same treatment. For instance, Stallion is touting a 5* Major tonight. Now, I know Stallion is honest and probably feels like this is a strong play but is it necessary to call it a "5* Major"? Well, just like advertising in any business, ou have to add a little hype or else you don;t stand out among your competitors.

Big Al was probably going ultra-contrarian last night and it blew up in his face. Let's not crucify him.

Again, I don;t advocate using any services. Do your own handicapping! And if you do use a service: CAVEAT EMPTOR

Nobody has a gun at your head to use their picks.
"Your first shot puts him down, then you put one in his brain. Then he's dead, then we go home."
