I really have no interest in a pitcher hitting. Except for a few exceptions it's pretty much like a free out.

      Dh or pitchers hitting?

With interleague play in full swing, this issue now seems magnified.
I grew up as a fan of the Chicago White Sox and a fan of the American league so I may be biased. But I like the DH rule so much more than pitchers hitting!
Why? Pitchers in general are terrible hitters. I've seen numerous times (this season alone) where pitchers have killed a rally. Or they force managers to use pinch hitters which in turn takes a given pitcher out of the game. This only leads to more relief pitching and that's already out of hand.

I say both leagues should use the DH or at the very least leave it the way it is now:
      American League= DH
      National League= pitchers hit

      Have a good day!

I agree. What's so exciting about watching a pitcher strikeout all the time?

Double switches and pinch hitting do make the game a little bit more interesting, i'm not all for pitchers hitting but when the N.L managers have to add a little bit more strategy to their game It does add something extra.

            The

strategy is a big part of the game that the old style purists never wanted to see changed......But then again that could be why Bob Gibson could throw like 27 complete games in a season and 28 or something ridiculous like that in another.....but.....my take is this:

A pitcher in the A.L. has to go against 9 batters top to bottom and most are very capable of putting the ball in play at any time! He must concentrate and focus at all times with NO breaks in the lineups!

In the N.L. a starter essentially has to pitch to a 7 player lineup if he cares to. By that I mean if you have a runner on second and two out OR EVEN first and second with two out with the number 8 hitter coming up.......you intentionally walk him....essentially a no at bat to get to the pitcher who with rare exception will ever hurt you. THAT is why UNDERS are so popular in the NL and not in the AL.

INTERESTING to me how all these years the two leagues have managed to NEVER get together on it.......It sure is fun though to hear the whining ON BOTH SIDES once the World Series starts!!

            JMHO & FWIW! Gv
