  • What is the gospel?

The term gospel means “good news,” therefore the gospel of Christ is the good news of His coming to bring sin forgiveness to those who believe (Colossians 1:14; Romans 10:9). Since the first man’s transgression, humanity has been under God’s condemnation (Romans 5:12). Everyone is guilty because they violate God’s flawless rule by committing sin (Romans 3:23). Physical death is the punishment for the crime of sin (Romans 6:23), followed by an eternity spent in a place of torment (Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:46). This permanent separation from God is referred to as the “second death” (Revelation 20:14–15).

It is more than just a historical account; it is also a narrative declaration that Jesus is the Messiah of Israel and the genuine Lord of the universe. The Gospel tales claim to both describe history and urge the reader to recognize Jesus as Lord and follow him.
