  • Need Some Help

Heys guys, I was curious how everyone keeps track of their bets on a daily basis. I have my shit written down everywhere napkins, envelopes, newspapers etc. By the time the week is over I don't know what is what. I keep a ballpark figure in my head but if my guy has a different figure than me it's hell trying to go through all my chicken scratch and find the mistake. I use a local so obviously if you use a off shore it is much easier. But I'm just looking for a way to get more organized. Does anyone have a spread sheet that they created? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I use a little notebook. Keep them all written down and have a total for each day and then I also have a running total. That way we can see what day the mistake comes on and go from there.

      BigMike:

I also keep a running total: YTD total, and weekly total.

I square up every week with my local, but when I start a new sheet every week, I put what the YTD is at that time.

I am +37,880 going into this week for the year.

I bought an accountants ledger from Office Depot , it is a green book with columns. I use a new sheet for each day and carry my total over to the next page. It has enough columns to write each play down and the amount won or lost.

Mike, if that is the case you just became my new best friend. Why not post your plays and let everyone ride the hot hand?:D

Thanks GR8, I will look for one of those next I'm at the store. Sounds like a good idea!

Your welcome!! It really works great the columns make it so easy to put your lines and $ amounts.

                BigMike,

It's hard for me to do that sometimes. I take alot of 2nd half things and alot of last minute games. The last thing on my mind is getting on the computer and posting my plays. Last night for example. I took Det. for a DIME, then took them for another Dime at half time. Waited till last minute on both to call in. I'll do my best to try and help people out.

                Tonight so far:

                T'Wolves +9 (1,000)
                Pgh +140 (300)
                NYY -135 (400)
                Minn.-120 (200)
                Cinci. +1.5 (300)

That's it so far. GL with whatever you take.

Mike - Leo is right ... It's a must that you jot down your stuff day to day .... grade the plays accurately .. keep daily and cumulative totals . After you confirm your bottom line with your contact .... shread the work and start again . Keep all week to week transactions in a very safe place ... this way you can see how you've done over a longer period of time. That goes in the vault. Being organized will help you a lot .

But above all ... Stata Zeet ! ( Italian for " Play it very close to the vest" .. you know ? ... lol ) Take care , - Coverboy

I'm from PGH, and I've seen the Pirates many times this year. Also they are going against one of their old teammated, with Suppan. He's NOT good. Plus the Pirates are tied with the best road record in the National League. I just feel there is ALOT of value in this play at +140, and the money is going on the BUCCO'S.

                        GL Buddy.

Mike I just use a Microsoft works spread sheet. I actually use one for each sport and a daily total. Very easy to use. If you have works let me know and I will give you the headings I use to give you a starting point.

STAH - TAH - ZEETA ... you should say it out loud a few times ... it means stay quiet ... or dont give out unnecessary information ... or .. keep your mouth closed ... It has many different uses .... think before you speak ... or like if you and a buddy meet a couple of babes somewhere and you think he's about to blow it by saying something wrong .. tell him " Stata Zeet" under your breath and stop him immediately .

Or like me right now .. I'm typing too damn much .. I gotta tell myself to Stata Zeet .... lol

                              Take care Mike
