Pure Gambling Movies

Lets start a list of gambling/betting movies.

I want to put some paramaters forward to clarify what I mean.

I like movies like Casino etc, but not movies like Leaving Las Vegas..where the center focus of the movie isnt gambling or sports wagering.

I rented a movie last weekend called Owning Mahowny, it is about a bank manager in the 80s who had a 10k debt that turned into a 10 Million dollar debt..and all about the gambling addiction.

So lets have a list of movies that bettors and gamblers alike love!

Wall Street - This one is a must see !

"The Gambler " 1970's ... Starring James Caan, Paul Sorvino, Lauren Hutton and a supporting cast of familiar faces. Very intense pure gambling film . See it !

wall street was good so is boiler room... more to do with the stock market but it is just fantastic.

P.S. I saw "Owning Mahowney" also. Not bad but "The Gambler" makes Mahowney seem like "Bambi " . No kiddin' around this one is serious stuff . Gotta trust me and pick up on it .

Rounders is fabulous .... Please everyone ... try to buy or rent Jimmy Caan's " The Gambler " I can't see anyone on Bettors Chat not loving it .

Rounders! excellent movie....brought so much more dead money to the tables.....I heard "the cooler" was supposed to be a good one, any thoughts?

I saw the Cooler and it was a great show!!

I wanted to add Boiler Room as I love that show, seen it 50 times I am sure.. Faro Tech baby!

If you liked Boiler Room, get Rogue Trader. To me it is BETTER than Boiler Room..the scale of the disaster is much greater and it is about stock futures..amazing stuff.

I have heard about The Gambler, dont know why I have never rented it??

The Runner - Now THIS is a hardcore gambling movie. A must see.

California Split - A film set mainly in casinos and races, as the two main chacrcters win and lose (but mainly win), get robbed, and get blind drunk. A classic.

Cold Blooded - Not really a gambling movie per se, but gambling is a running theme. What's better than Boon from Animal House mentoring small time phone jockey Brandon Walsh as a hitman? Oh yeah. he kills Alex P. Keaton.

Can't remember the name of the movie but had Jason Priestley and 3 childhood buds. Double Down is the name I think. Entertaining.
