Decision 2014: GOP Gains Control of Senate

This is all well and good but it doesn't address the governor's races in solid blue states. Mass, Maryland and Illinois are as blue as it gets and they all 3 elected Republican governors. In each of the cases, the democrats blamed their losses on anti Obama sentiment. Additionally, Obama campaigned for all three of the losing candidates, rare since every major candidate in a tight race ran as fast as they could from the Obama name. Virginia will eventually go D as did NH late but there is no way these blue states should have been close. Throw in Florida and Wisconsin where the Democratic Machine unsuccessfully spent millions on advertising to unseat R governors in states that Obama won, you have a route.

Chuck Todd, Chris Matthews Anderson Cooper along with every major political pundit on election night with the exception of Al Sharpton called this a wave and a clear indictment on President Obama and his agenda. These people aren't exactly far right political analysts.

When it is all said and done, the R's will have 54 Senate seats and the D's will have 44. I don't know what you call a wave or anti Obama sentiment but these results speak for themselves. Hopefully he will do as Bill Clinton did in 1994 and show some leadership after massive losses and work with both houses. The entire country benefited from Clinton's acknowledgement of the wishes of the electorate. The economy took off and even though he is a perv, Clinton showed leadership. If Obama doesn't do the same, he will go down as the most devisve and least effective presidnt in our country's history.

I had enough of Dimers crap for one day. He texted me for hours and I was exacerbated. He owned nothing except for acting like a baby. He doesn't know when to shut the hell up. I asked him several times to knock it off and he continued. Unfortunately, it carried over to here.....

I think these discussions are beneficial as long as there are no personal attacks. I can assure you that unlike real politicians, we can keep these agree to disagree discussions as constructive as can be.

No disrespect taken at all on my part Robby. We appreciate your posts here. Always well thought out. I think the elections in two years will be interesting. I think this midterm election was a little bit of everything causing the shift that we saw. Obama's policies, the Libs being complacent and thinking they didn't need to campaign to win and some good campaigning on the Repubs part. This was a wake up call for sure. I think Obama will make an effort to work with Republicans.
