Above Ground Pools

The wife and I have discussed putting up an above ground pool. Do any of you have them? What's your expierences/recommendations?

Right now...we are looking in the range of 52" deep...appx 24' diam...

Mojo: Had one in my other house about 12 years when my kids were younger. I had no problem what so ever. They are less work and expense than inground pools and they are easy enough to take down ifd you get sick of it or you want to sell your house. I found out that a lot of people don't like pools and people who came to look at our old house immediately asked if we would take down the pool if they agreed t o buy it. Had a lot of good times in it especially when the kids weren't aroundIf you catch my drift

Do you remember what brand you owned? Doughboy? Sharkline? or what company you dealt with?

Local stores here have very much higher prices than what online retailers have...but sometimes it's tough to weed through the bullshit online to find that reputable/reliable company.

I think it was an Esther Williams above ground pool. Not sure they even still make them. Good luck. You may want to see if Consumer Reports have rated above ground pools

I have one that I used about 3 times. It's like a splash above ground pool. They are superior to normal above ground pools as the regular pools the vinyl lining can tear easily which then costs big money to replace it. The pool that I have and the splash have lifetime warranties on them. You can kick the sides and it doesn't do anything to them. Back when I bought mine they showed a truck hitting one and a guy using a sledge hammer hitting the sides. Didn't do a thing to them.

Splash pools are way higher though. I thought mine was a KD pool, but can't find that. It's sitting in my carport and I'll grab a name of it.

Griffy, I've had a Kayak 16x24 for the past 6 years. They are the best pools by far. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

16' x 24' Rectangular Beaded Pool Liners for Kayak Aboveground Pools

Don't rule out Splash or KD as the lining of them is the best out there for an above ground pool. KD is made with the same material that they use for bullet proof vests.

That is just for the liner of the Kayak...I've found some prices for the Kayak in the 15K+ range...well above our budget.

I'm telling you check out KD & Splash. They are indestructible, but cost more. They sell the round 24 foot ones with the vinyl liners down here for installed $1995 to $2495, but plan on buying a new liner every 3-5 years.
