  • Copy Machine - A Security Risk?

This is from a CBS News Investigation.

"Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant'
is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'"

The answer is, yes they can be. If you are in any kind of business that requires files to be kept private, (banking, insurance, health care etc) there are many ways to keep the info from staying on the hard drives. This is no different from selling your computer when you get a new one. Unless you can completely wash your hard drive, you are giving people access to the info on your computer/copier. Biggest problem is the wholesale market that takes in machines that come off 3rd party leases, and a "GE" or Wells Fargo" leasing company sells them to wholesalers.

The next new thing is cloud computing so all of your info is stored online.

I thought everything was stored since last year. If I remember correctly it was posted right here that cable companies are now required to store their clients info from there hard drive for two years. Not that we already didn't have big brother watching.
