  • Advice on a weekend getaway...

I wanted to take a weekend trip with the wifey...with 3 things in mind...

fun place, with plenty of things to do
price, dont want to spend a ton but around 1500 will do
proximity, dont want a long plane ride, so somewhere near the Houston area

For now all we have come up with is New Orleans (we got great food, bars, casinos, swamp tours, etc...)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

If I were you I would Google Things to do in ________ fill in the name of a city. You will get more than enough info that will keep you busy for a weekend getaway.

Assuming you don't live there and/or have not gone there too many times already, whats wrong with just good old Vegas?

If you go to New Orleans, check out a restaurant called Stella.

New Orleans is on the top of my list...lil over an hour flight. Ive been twice and had a great time, although I was single and was drunk the whole trip...Is there anything you would recommend us doing, outside the french quarter, bourbon street, Harrahs...Ive heard of some ghost tours they have, and the airboats...anything else that you think the old lady and I would enjoy...

If you go to New Orleans check out K-Paul's Louisana Kitchen in the French Quarter. My all time favorite restaurant.

It's in the French Quarter...one time when my wife and I were in New Orleans we took one of those swamp tours. I was skeptical about it but it was actually pretty cool.

Me and my wife and a few other couples are going to be down there in New Orleans in March and I think something like that would be pretty cool. What about the wife though? Her name might be Dixie but damn she don't like bugs, rivers, swamps, anything that messes up her nails and ect... Did your wife like it?
