Monte-I am sure you are right about old pictures for some women, but remember they have new people signing up all of the time-I believe it is 200 a week, and I guarantee you those photos aren't old as they are taken by FA people themesleves.
Just go to loveme.com and check on new profiles.
I believe every Wednesday late in the day there is a new set of photos and profiles.
ps Frankly I cannot answer how long they keep the women active.
In actuality, if I were to do it all over again, I might be a little wary of some woman who was still active and had been around for six or seven years and would probably start with the most current ones. jmho

This is from I am Going on a Romance Tour post 93 on 7/23/05 before I started my tour to Colombia.
Even though it was written in response to something Jcindaville said, it is advice which should be heeded by anyone who is even thinking about trying this kind of venture:

Let me clarify one thing regarding flights:
If your brother feels he knows the lady well enough for HIM to buy her a plane ticket some day, thats fine, but he should NEVER send her the money to buy it for herself for obvious reasons.
I don't know if I recounted this or not but several weeks there was a lady(28) with whom I chatted on Latinamericancupid who seemed nice for a while but then story became questionable- ome story about being transported to Nigeria from New york to be with her father who was an engineer; allegedly her father had signed a contract with a company to stay there for 16 years.;the only problem was that he is allegedly 69 now ,meaning he would be 85 when the "contract" expired. Need I say any more?
Anyways, I had suspicions even before I knew this, and finally wanting to confirm my suspicions. asked her if things went right with us would she come to the US to live with me if I bought her a plane ticket.
She then gave me this whole song and dance act that she would have to buy the ticket for herself claiming that is the only acceptable way permitted in Nigeria to purchase a plane ticket.
I told her I would check into it,and then she claimed that she would NEVER trust anyone who questioned her word.
I told her sayonara and then checked with various airlines and OF COURSE they said I could buy her a ticket, proving she was a LIAR.
The next day she was booted off Latinamericancupid because apparently she had tried the same bs with other guys and had been reported.
Believe me, I still believe Latinamericancupid is good in spite of a few experiences with me, and again sorry if I told this story earlier(I simply don't remember).
I think at the very least my experience shows at least for me why one should never send money to anyone in a foreign country(especially if you have never met them).

JC-If you are interested, go back and read posts 75 and 78 in the Romance Tour;it talks further about what I mentioned yesterday about my experience with one of the Brazlian women;she is probably the exception rather than the rule, but even still, it does show the kind of mindset and things which go on with some of these women.
