Anyone here that knows anything about working on cars i need your help

MY GIRLFRIEND HAS A 2001 ECLIPSE AND WHEN WE WENT TO GET THE EMISSIONS DONE IT FAILED.COME TO FIND OUT SHE HAS A FRIED ECU.I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT $1500 FOR A NEW PART.I HAVE TRIED CALLING A COUPLE JUNK YARDS AROUND HERE BUT HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANYWHERE.DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING I CAN DO TO GET THIS PART.I HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN 2 TICKETS THIS PAST MONTH FOR EXPIRED TAG.IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A GOOD ONLINE JUNKYARD OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT WILL HELP IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

DO I NEED BOTH PARTS OR JUST THE ECU.OR IS THERE A WAY I CAN OVER RIDE THIS SO I CAN GET IT TO PASS EMISSIONS.DONT WANT TO PAY $1500 FOR A NEW PART AND DONT HAVE THE $$$$$$$$$ to pay for it regardless.

As the Owner of a 2002 For Explorer, don't even go there with me. Fucking transmission went out at 60,000 miles and cost me $2500. A quick Google check shows this is a rampant problem Ford knows about, but won't do anything about. On the flipside, our 2004 Honda Odyssey transmission went out (luck, I know) also out of warranty, and guess what......Honda stood behind their product and replaced it at no charge.

I hate to say this as I'm as big of a USA rah rah guy as there is out there, but I'll NEVER buy an American car the rest of my life.

I'm kinda in the same boat.I drive a jeep but the wife drives a Suzuki Grand vatar.The Suzuki runs great and has a whole lot better warranty than any other car we were looking at.Warranty is huge to me.I traded in her BMW X3 cause it was just out of warranty and parts and shit was outrageous if something was to go wrong.And I ain't got the best of luck either.Hell it was $60 just to get the oil changed on that bastard plus gas was in the $4 a gallon range on top of having to put premium in it,so the Suzuki and a 7 year warranty is a whole lot better for us.

I bought my wife a 2008 Sable Premiere with leather seats last June. It had 7,000 miles on it. She wanted heated seats put in, so it took an extra week to pick up the car. I live in CT but bought it in Mass.

About a month later, we go on a little trip and she turns the heat on in her seat and tells me the lumbar section doesnt work. A few days later as I was waxing the car, I noticed that the clearcoat on both sides of the rear bumper was peeling. We called the dealer to get everything looked at.

1st I had to take it to the place the dealer used to install the heated seats. They tell me they installed the wrong pads, but they didnt have the right pads to install so I got pissed because I had to make a 2 and a half hour ride for nothing.

The clearcoat was coming off because the car had either been backed into something or someone hit it, but that was never disclosed to us when we asked about the car being in any accidents before we bought it. After taking it to another dealer in my area & 2 body shops I found out that it had been hit and instaed of taking the bumper off to repair it, they touched everything up & clearcoated the bumper while it was still on the car.

I had to sue the dealer in Mass. & went to court a few weeks ago. the dealer was asked by the magistrate if the car was in an accident, he replied NEVER. Then 20 seconds later proceeded to tell him they spent 176 dollars to repair the rear bumper.

Long story short, person from out of state sueing a local boy, HAS NO FUCKING CHANCE OF WINNING. despite all of our proof, they said the fucking prick did nothing wrong and told us by mail we lost but didnt tell us why.

Last time I pay 20,000 cash for a car. next time I buy, I'll take payments and if the same shit goes wrong, I'll drive that fucker off a cliff.

Mercury says I'll get close to 28 on the highway with this car. not even close, try 21 max.

Didn't you have 2 or 3 eclipses at one time.Take one off the one you aint driving and put it on hers to pass inspection and then put it back.
