I did read it and im impressed with the actions of john elway.

My disagreement lies with the fact that entertainers are not and shouldnt be considered role models. Its nice that elway stepped up and was classy here but in so many cases we have athletes doing the wrong thing ex mike vick.

he is the prime example of why athletes shouldnt be considered role models.

Either you changed or I changed but for once me and MM agree This is a great story no doubt but Elway is probably in the 20% that really care and the other 80% don't give a shit about nothing but themselves and money.MM ain't taking away from what Elway did by no means but athletes shouldn't be our kids heros.I wanted to be Michael Jordan more than anybody. But now I look back and my high school coach that let me try to chase my dream was the real hero.Same with football.I wanted to play college football.Didn't make it but all the guys I wanted to be like ain't got nothing on my Coach. And same for my Dad.He was in the stands for every TD,every game winning shot(only 3 but there still fresh in my memory)and every double play me and Tech fan turned in baseball, he was there.I might be lucky and I know that everybody don't have dads or coaches who spend time with them but you don't have to make millions to make a difference.

                  That should read "doesn't matter."

I could be wrong, but I am 99.99% positive that should read DOESN'T.

The word "don't", goes with the plural clause in that sentence which is, "the little kindnesses they give."

It should not read, "The little kindnesses they give doesn't matter."

It could almost work both ways.....Because the word "doesn't" could also be used with the first clause in that sentence which is, "what they do." However, because he broke it up with commas, it goes with the last clause.

And just to be completely anal. LOL. It wouldn't have been considered a "typo," it would be considered an error of grammar. Typo's are misspelled words....

Sorry, I forgot Professor Kaz taught English at Harvard for 25 years.

It was my mistake, I read the word "kindnesses" as "kindness", which would make doesn't correct, as I have never heard the word kindness used in the plural ever in my life. But yeah you're right plurals use don't, singulars use doesn't. "That doesn't matter." "Those don't matter"

I know its not a typo, the word typo is just easier to say than error in grammar.

No, I didn't teach English at Harvard. You were the one claiming there was a typo, not me! I just said I didn't see one. You stated 99.99% sure there was one. I guess you expected me to say, "yeah, you're right, the word 'doesn't' is correct?"

That may be true, but whether we like it or not famous people are looked upon by many kids as role models. Thus the reason those people should conduct themselves in a proper manner while out in public.
