SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Australian man convicted of his seventh drink-driving charge was spending about A$1,000 ($972) a week on beer -- enough to buy more than 2,500 small bottles a month, a newspaper said Tuesday.

Let me get this straight.I pay about $22 for a 36 pack of Bud Light.$1,000 worth = 45 36 packs which = 1,620 beers a week.Divide that by 7 days a week and that is about 231 beers a day.Sounds a little fishy to me.I'm sure his beer might cost more but that seems like an absurd amount.

I was thinking a 12 pack cost me about $10, almost $1 per beer. Roughly, 1000 beers per week or 140 per day. If that person is awake for 16 hours that about 8 beers per hour.

Sounds fishy to me.
