How many guys out there share directv with a friend?

I don't think that is possible unless you live next door to someone and have a splitter with each of you having your own receiver. -
The only thing I share with friends is my wife!

You can share. Just sign up for the max receivers (4?) and split em up any which way you like and bam only 1 bill.......all you need is both houses to have their own sats hooked up.
Also when you call customer service make sure you call from the number that is on the account because that raises a flag if you do not.
