Has anyone here gone to this? It is the most unreal experience in existance today. Nothing else comes close. Anyone?

I have no idea what you're talking about. I assume a show in Vegas?

Some of my friends have gone and enjoy the experience. Over 300,000 people attend the event that's set in the desert. Lots of hippie chicks running around naked and tons of drugs....

Im am pretty over people and their "hippie' or "Woodstock" references... Not even close.

It is radical self expression and radical self reliance. Period. If you Youtube it, you will see some really cool art and then some.

As far as the theme camps, art installations, costumes, nitelife... better than anywhere. Very surreal.

As an example, my best friend and I actually fought in a full scale, life-size "Thunderdome," from Mad Max.

You will meet all kinds of people there. From total jackasses who chooose ot experience one moment of it sober, to real, honest-to- goodness people who geunine and pretty together. There is o other experience that even comes close. I highly reccomend going, just remember everything you learned in boyscouts for your preparation.

Last year it was close to 60,000, not 300,000. I have blogged about this quite a bit on myspace. My url is /deucegigolo.

Sorry....That was a typo on my part. I meant 30,000. And the Woodstock/Hippie reference is not that far off.

"The Burning Man is a no-holds-barred New Age "Woodstock" style festival, where neo-pagans, wiccans, transvestitie entertainers, and back-slidden Christians go to trance, perform rituals, burn sacrifices to pagan gods and goddesses, dance in the nude, engage in sex, and otherwise "express" themselves and become one with Gaia."

"The number of participants at the Burning Man gala has nearly doubled each year since 1986, and this year organizers hope to break an attendance of 30,000." That's a 2000 figure. 37,000 in 2006.

You'll have to take Kaz with a grain of salt ghost. According to him, he know's everything, and when someone posts an article it's from some "unreliable source", but he can quote some random quote off a website and have it be "1000% reliable"

The remarks above are an unfortunate attempt to discredit me.....KB is always looking to prove me wrong. And no doubt, I can be at times. Unfortunately for him, I'm not in this case.

The article was written by Thomas Horn. He is a credible news writer.

Like it or not, that's his opinion man. Opinions can not be turned into facts no matter how hard you try or how many books you write...

KB....Those statements he made were very factual. I've had several friends that have been there and what he said is right on the mark....It wasn't an opinion.

The statement below is pretty accurate...

"15,000 wiccans, satanists, goddesses (white witches), nudists, and a consortium of other lost party-goers, who converged on the hot Nevada desert for a Labor Day weekend of "glorious Hell on earth."

That news writer can say what he wants. I was there and will be going again. Im not going to argue with anyone, I was only trying to point out what it really is... and his perspective is partly true, BUT that is only a small part of the people and party-goers. The entire thing is a weeklong, and it is amazing. Go Youtube "Burning man art cars"- those are friggin cool.
Again, anyone can think what they want, Im only trying to do the event/people fair justice, and to say "Woodstock"-that just doesn't do it or deliver the proper perception.
