    I bought a 60 Inch Phillips Magnavox HDTV 2 years ago and i've never had a single issue with it. I love the picture and SIZE! The T.V. was between $2,500-$3,000 everywhere i looked and i ended up going to Sam's club and saw the exact T.V. for $1,499. I couldn't believe it. It was in my house the next day and i've had great success with it ever since. I want to hook the Wii or XBOX 360 up to it but i heard it's not good for the t.v. so i havn't. I really want to though!
    What could be bad for it? I just got a brand new 40" Samsung LCD about a month ago. I hook up the PS2 on there and XBOX and haven't had any problems

        If you have a Plasma then I wouldn't recommend it.

          I have no friggin' idea. It probably isn't as high tech as that one. I have no clue but the picture is awesome and i've never had an issue. Sometimes technology can be a bitch. I would be pissed if my t.v. did that shit!

            I've had several people say that it is bad for the picture tube and colors on the T.V.

            Plasma t.v.'s look awesome, no doubt. They are priced very high and come with many problems at times though. I have a couple of friends that have one and they have had a few issues. One of my buddies had his t.v. burn out after 1 year.

                I know nothing about this stuff. What do you mean by deep? I have a Yamaha surround sound hooked to it and all i know is the thing rocks!

                  I could be wrong...but I think that was more for the "older" big screen TV's or TV's from years ago. I also thought it was bad for it, but have been told that it's not now...or at least not as bad. I know my TV just took a shit...but I've had my 360 on it for about 2 years. I never noticed any color fading or shit burned into the screen.

                  Monte -
                  I probably will be setting mine on the lower setting now too. I don't know...It's just the picture is much better with the dynamic setting. If I have to pay 135 bucks for another lamp in 3 years, I say it's worth it to burn it brighter....who knows...I may not even own this TV in 3 years. Electronics gets outdated sooo fast these days.

                  The said that the bulb would last about 3 years...I've owned it for 2.5 years. It was a display model so that adds a bunch of running time too. Since it was the display TV they gave me $500 additional bucks off. But then they wanted to sell me the 5 year extended warranty for $500 bucks...I turned it down...I don't recall if the warranty covered bulbs/lamps.

                    I'm not too fluid in this but...

                    LCD = Liquid Crystal Display
                    Plasma = Plasma...hahha
                    DLP = Digital Light Projection

                    I'm not sure...but I think LCD and Plasma are 2 different TV's

                    Maybe we have a TV saleman/electronics junkie in the BC area that could help us with this???

                      I agree with Monte- set it on the lower brightness setting when you get it replaced. I have a 65 " Toshiba DLP Projection. Your eyes will appreciate the lower bulb strength, but I base this on the larger viewing areaof my TV. In my opinion Brightness was to sell the buyer in the first place. Better technology is not always better!

                        griff, You don't think the game possibly burned out the light quicker or anything? Mine doesn't have the bulbs (I think).

                          Wayne, I just bought a 52" Samsung LCD about 3 months ago. Hooked my XBOX 360 to it and it was UNBELIELIEVABLE! I would highly recommend it. Unfortunately, our home was burglarized 10 days ago and the XBOX went bye-bye....
