As time passes on, there's little doubt that few folks will remember the short-lived Mid-Atlantic Hockey League. Founded only a few months ago, the league was designed to give former junior and college players a place to play as they attempted to climb the ladder back to the higher tiers of professional hockey. Late last week, the five-team development league called it quits thanks to low attendance, leaving five teams worth of players out of jobs and a couple of weeks behind on their pay checks.
While most of the players simply packed up and left their respective towns, a small knot of players from the Jamestown Vikings decamped to a local hotel (the Vikings Lodge), got all liquored up and decided to trash the place:
