My boss and I had a conversation about Bonds and other ball players that broke the rules.
1. Bonds probably took steroids. But no proof. Does he deserve to be in the hall of fame?
2. Babe Ruth got drunk before the games. That is proven. He was under a substance while playing and is in hall of fame!
3. Lou Gherig was on morphine in his final years playing. He was sick but is that still considered under a substance.
4. What about all the pitchers in the hall of fame that used sandpaper or vaseline etc. Why isn't that considered cheating?
5. All the batters that used corked bats. Too much pine tar. Isn't that cheating?
I just wanted to ask is there a double standard here? Why are some overlooked and some not? Pete Rose gambled on baseball. I think he should be in the hall of fame. There are a lot of "other" cheaters in the hall. Why do they keep him out. A double Standard?
I am interested to see what you guys have to say about this topic. So please reply!
